UFC on FOX 8 appears to have a new addition, as veteran lightweights Spencer Fisher and Yves Edwards have reportedly agree to throw down at the July 27th event. The card will be hosted by Seattle’s KeyArena.
Edwards will be looking for the 43rd victory of his career, as the 36 year-old dropped a hard fought, split decision loss to Isaac Vallie-Flagg in February. The 42nd win on Edward’s extensive resume took place in December–you might remember it well– as he knocked out Jeremy Stephens at UFC on FOX 5.
Fisher will be looking to end a three fight losing skid, as the 36 year-old, rugged vet is coming off losses to Ross Pearson, Thiago Tavares and most recently Sam Stout, which was their rubber match fight.
Fisher’s last victory took place in 2010 when he scored a unanimous decision win over Curt Warburton.
According to MMA Junkie, the Fisher, Edwards fight is just waiting for bout agreements to be signed before it’s finalized.
UFC on FOX 8 is still looking for a main event, however, Rory MacDonald vs. Jake Ellenberger, Tarec Safffiedine and Mac Danzig vs. Melvin Guillard are some of the bouts that have been confirmed for the card.
