ONE FC 9, aka Rise to Power, has added a trio of bouts to their May fight card. Headlining the trio will be the bantamweight final between Kevin Belingon vs. Masakatsu Ueda. Bouts with Eduard Folayang vs. Kamal Shalorus and Phil Baroni vs. Nobutatsu Suzuki have also been added to the May 31 fight card. The promotion announced the bouts earlier today.
The Bantamweight Grand Prix Final will see Filipino fighter Kevin Belingon taking on Japan’s Masakatsu Ueda in Manila. Belingon crushed Yusup Saadulaev and Thanh Vu on his road to the final, needing less than a round to finish each fight. His opponent, Ueda, defeated Jens Pulver and Min Jung Song en route to the finals, the one-time Bellator fighter is 17-2-2 in his MMA career.
Additionally, lightweight Kamal Shalorus and Eduard Folayang will meet on May 31. Fan favorite Phil Baroni and Nobutatsu Suzuki will also face off on the company’s PPV as well.
ONE FC 9 will be headlined by a pair of title fights as hometown hero ONE FC featherweight world champion Honorio “The Rock” Banario takes on Japanese submission specialist Koji Oishi in the main bout. In the second title fight, Bibiano Fernandes returns to the ONE FC cage against Japanese MMA sensation Koetsu Okazaki for the ONE FC bantamweight interim title.
ONE FC 9 will air as an Online PPV in the United States for $9.99, with the first two bouts airing free via the company’s website.
