The seventeenth iteration of The Ultimate Fighter has officially come to an end, and it did so with a bang. The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada played home to the event, which saw Travis Browne, Daniel Pineda, Miesha Tate, and Cat Zingano taking home $50,000 bonuses for their efforts.
Browne earned “Knockout of The Night” after leaving former UFC Heavyweight Title challenger in a heap at the 71-second mark. When the Brazilian shot for a single-leg takedown and failed to complete it, “Hapa” began to blast him with elbows to the side of the head and inevitably put him to pasture.
Pineda earned his bonus money in a “Submission of The Night” performance against Justin Lawrence. At the 95-second mark, “The Pit” secured a kimura and forced the tap from the highly touted former TUF featherweight.
Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano went to battle in their “Fight of The Night”. The female bantamweights traded positions and swung heavy leather at one another for over 10 minutes. In the third stanza, however, the Broomfield, Colorado native came out like a house on fire, blasting the former champion with knees and elbows en route to a stoppage at 2:55 of the closer.
