MMAFrenzy’s coverage of the UFC’s TUF 17 Finale continues with our recaps of tonight’s FUEL TV preliminary card. The Ultimate Fighter 17 fighters made up the majority of tonight’s FUEL TV preliminaries. In the final preliminary bout of the evening, Josh Samman defeated Kevin Casey in an exciting fight.

In other action, Luke Barnatt, Dylan Andrews, and Clint Hester notched victories on the FUEL TV card.

Samman Battles Back to Defeat Casey

Kevin Casey and Josh Samman started off with a bang as Samman tried to finish Casey too early and was caught in a gorgeous submission chain that he was barely able to escape with a series of slams. Samman would roar back in the second with beautiful clinch work to put away Casey in the second round.

Barnatt Edges Hart in Great Fight

Englishman Luke Barnatt and Collin Hart put on a fantastic fight tonight in Las Vegas. The two fighters went toe-to-toe in a bout that was not the best display of technique but certainly one of the more dynamic fights you will see. In the end it was the Team Sonnen fighter who got the call and picked up the victory over the Team Jones fighter.

Andrews Crushes Quinlan

Team Jones’s Dylan Andrews knew he had to keep it standing against a grappling standout in Jimmy Quinlan. The New Zealander was able to do just that as he notched a win in his UFC debut. Quinlan was caught coming in and then ate an uppercut that sent him desperately trying to get the fight to the canvas but Andrews teed off with about 15-unanswered strikes that put away the Massachusetts-native in the first.

Hester Drills Marunde

Atlanta’s Clint Hester made an explosive debut against TUF 16 veteran Bristol Marunde. TUF 17’s Hester utilized solid striking to put away Marunde with a wicked elbow that sent The Ultimate Fighter 16 and Strikeforce veteran flailing to the canvas. It should be noted that despite the knockout loss, Marunde only took the fight a week ago after TUF 17’s Zak Cummings tore his hamstring and significantly challenged Hester’s developing grappling game.
