After a unanimously panned and flat out depressing performance against David Branch at World Series of Fighting 2, former WEC Middleweight Champion Paulo Filho now finds himself back in the unemployment line.
Filho (23-5-2) has fallen a long way down since being ranked the world’s consensus number-two 185 lb. fighter in 2008. The Brazilian jiu jitsu specialist is 1-3-1 in his last five fights, which includes the putrescent performance against Branch, where Filho did nothing in way of defense over 15 minutes.
The former middleweight powerhouse has had a very public slew of personal issues over the past years. Filho has been known to suffer panic attacks prior to fights, miss weight by egregious amounts, and even checked into rehab for Rohypnol addiction at one point.
World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo Confirmed the news to MMA Junkie Radio earlier today.
