The Regie des alcools des courses et des jeux (Quebec Athletic Commission) revealed today that all drug tests from UFC 158 came back negative. Six fighters were tested for undisclosed substances following the March 16 fight card and all tests were negative.
UFC welterweight Nick Diaz had casted doubt over his ability to pass a drug test prior to the fight but dodged his second straight positive test. UFC president Dana White said that if Diaz had failed his drug test that he would probably be cut by the promotion.
Diaz’s lawyer has complained about the testing procedures at UFC 158 prior to news that Diaz passed his drug test, arguing that his client should receive an immediate rematch with UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre or the champ should relinquish his title. Diaz has stated that he is effectively retired unless he is granted a rematch with GSP or a bout with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
