Sooo that 2am on the westside of the world hmmmmmmmm got a confrence call at 7am (westside tiempo) what to do what to do…. Yet I could wake at 5 and check on this I dunno, time for a scotch and allow the thought process to take affect, or perhaps a smooth bourbon I dunno I can’t seem to make up my mind, but I did waste a good few seconds writing this worthless drab script

  • surfingk5 says:

Dude, I have no drink where I’m at. Decaf coffee…just got depressed

  • surfingk5 says:

what are you watching on fr?

    • fr702 says:

Decaf coffe, kinda defeats the point doesn’t it?? Go for hot coco, F that you’re in SD its warm there

Justin had some links in another thread soo I dunno

Fyi I have chosen a Champange of beers and two fingers of Basil Hayden and some UFC 92 rewatch for the moment o wait mindless entertainment for a minute curtosy of Robot Chicken

      • justin says:

Yeah, decaf coffee is kinda pointless, especially considering that the formaldehyde they use to decaffeinate it is actually worse for you than the caffeine (in most cases). Although, if you’re looking to get some sleepy soon, but want the taste of coffee, I suppose I understand, but then you could pop in a bit of Khalua or Baileys to counter the stimulant effect of the caffeine with the downer effect of alcohol.

      • surfingk5 says:

okay, how about you all just line up and kick me in the balls?

my tummy is sensitive and it’s late. an old guy like me can’t stay up late…pluse the formaldehyde helps to preserve my old ass

      • fr702 says:

As well caffine alows alcohol to pass threw you blood stream faster, that’s why when those typical biotches why have only red bull/vodka get smashed all hella quick and more annoying by the moment, also with the cocaine to stay skinny and pretty they most likely got a head start anyways.. Gotta love college towns douchbaggery by the pleanty and wanna be gurls gone wild just stinking up the place with their coconut perfume aka stripper stank

      • fr702 says:

Surfing, you’re old??? Ya ok, sensitive stomach um old #7 must be the problem there, there presurvation one was pretty good tho

      • justin says:

The sugar in RedBull and such has to do with that as well, when sugar hits your stomach it goes “woohoo” and starts devouring whatevers in there.

      • surfingk5 says:

No, I’m not old…and how dare you say #7 is a problem…that hurts, that really hurts.

      • fr702 says:

When I get there I’m going to get u a proper glass of bourbon, anythoughts on the 25th?? Meant to ask you earlier

      • fr702 says:

        Bueno, let me know

    • surfingk5 says:

      Probably know something tomorrow

  • surfingk5 says:

pretty dramatic about their entrances…not nearly as good as the professional Japanese wrestlers but I suppose it will do.

  • justin says:

I posted two different places that claim they will be streaming this event over on the Manhoef post.

  • surfingk5 says:

I’m on the justin.tv seems okay

  • fr702 says:

What’s your guys picks for fight of the year??? Hell if we are going to hijack some shhhh we should do it properly, make it an open forum for awhile, sorry Kris

  • justin says:

Screw it, my eyes are too heavy and its now looking like a 2am start, I can’t hang. I’ll find the fights after the fact somewhere tomorrow.

  • fr702 says:

Minowaman with a toehold huh bueno

  • Wow! Gesias “JZ” Calvancante vs. Joachim Hansen has been scratched…

    • fr702 says:

Um WTF Kris I need to know why this was a huge fight and a possible redemption for a earlier loss to HellBoy seriously why?

      • From above: “JZ entered the ring immediately before the event began and announced that his scheduled bout against Hansen had been scratched. Hansen reportedly did not pass his pre-fight medicals and is being treated for what is being called a “head injury”.”

        Looking for more info now…

  • fr702 says:

Sorry just saw “a head injury” WTF does that mean is this Ken Shammy Sham all over again, and it still upsets me that HDNet is covering this

  • Two more results are in: In the K-1 Koshien tournament Taishi Hiratsuka defeated Daizo Sasaki via second-round knockout and Koya Urabe defeated Tatsuya Kusakabe via third-round technical knockout.

Not that anyone cares about those results in particular but it means we’re moving closer to the fights we do card about.

    • fr702 says:

Hahaha perhaps I’m the only one who is attempting to stay awake other than yourself, and I’m not even privey to see shhh I have to wait for you to pass along info.. And if they do have a MMA~addiction program you won’t be able to get me to go for my addiction is healthy damnit, seriously thx for the work you’re putting forth Kris

      • No problem. I wasn’t planning on doing live results but I’m usually up until 4am working on the site anyways so I figured why not. With the pace the updates are coming out I still have a lot of time to work on the site as well.

      • fr702 says:

Hey its a freakin HUGE card and could endup taking forever, but there are some wonderful fights tonight, hey did u hear that crazy rumor that CC will be allowed to go back to the UFC if he beats HMC?? Maybe its just some interwebby bs just wondering…

      • Yeah I did read that. We’ll see how tonight goes. Personally I think he’ll need at least one more win before going back to the UFC, but who knows what might happen. He’s still a recognizable name that I could see the UFC inviting back.

  • fr702 says:

Yet is a win v HMC seriously a stepping stone back to the UFC, especially when that darn HW division is um starting to get interesting for the first time in damn near ever..? But hey having CC back would only bolster that imo

    Nakumura with the W

    • Exactly, that’s why I think he needs another fight or two before coming back to the UFC but we’ll see how he looks tonight before getting ahead of ourselves. The heavyweight division is tougher now than when he left but I also think he’s improved since leaving the UFC. I think he’s far from his PRIDE days but could still be competitive in the UFC for sure.

      • Chris L. says:

the biggest problem in CC’s game is that it’s not well suited for the cage. I would love to see him back but I think his style is not fit for the cage because he likes to counter and catch guys coming forward and to do that you have to back up again and again. At least with the ropes it’s easier to gain a restart or circle out while defending a takedown but with the cage you’re pretty much stuck there until you go down or somehow fight it off. I think if CC modifies his game enough he could easily bounce back but that’s up to him! It’s one fighter I’d love to be proven wrong by.

  • joshsmith says:

I hope mirko doesnt become a gate keeper man i like cro cop he’s a great fighter

  • justin says:

the justin.tv link I posted on the other pages is showing the event now, but it is behind Kris’s updates.

    • Was behind until my ass fell asleep during the intermission haha…

      • justin says:

haha. Well, the cat woke me up at 5:30, so I watched it for a bit, but I had to get back to sleep, so I slept some more, then got up and handled my business this morning, gonna try to find the fights on MMA share or something. Overeem v. Hari is on youtube, but that’s it that I know of (I didn’t look for all of them, I saw some of them streaming)

      • justin says:

d’oh, didn’t see the videos up top. You’ve got two of the other fights I missed and wanted to see there. Thanks, mate.

  • justin says:

Gegard Mousasi by TKO, wow. That guy’s dangerous. He obliterated Musashi.

  • justin says:

Aoki by heel hook. The new WAMMA champ and number two in the world. I really didn’t see that coming.

  • canadamuayguy says:

hey kris hows it goin i wanna join this site can u help me im not sure if i have email address set up yet though ive been reading your site 4 a year and a half from a pay as u go phone!! got net now cant wait 2 join?? i will watch 4 your reply on this comment

  • fr702 says:

    Aoooooookkkkkkkkkiiiiiiiiii

  • fr702 says:

Not to discredit Eddie, but my thing is now his only 2 losses have come against “ground aces” I’d say there is something to that lil problem.. And I forgot he signed with that ballatore fight thingy majiggy
I cannot wait to see the fight owait urrrr

    • Justin says:

Dang I forgot about that ballatore thing too. So that means he won’t be in the UFC. And I’ve read that Aoki is claiming to be the face of the lightweight division for Dream or something like that, therefore it sounds like he’ll be staying put. Ah well maybe we can hope for Hansen and JZ.

      • fr702 says:

The UFC offered HellBoy a contract and he say I spit on u, ie he felt disrespected by their offer but bs talks and money walks something I dunno

      • justin says:

Eh, I dunno. It seems like some of the European guys have a problem with the UFC. I guess they don’t realize that if they do well in the UFC, even if the UFC doesn’t pay them a lot directly they have the potential for the American marketing machine known as endorsement deals, which paid/pay Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Tiger Woods and the like tons more than they get for actually participating in their sport. Granted MMA hasn’t quite reached that level of endorsements, but you combine a handful of sponsors, get a deal with a clothing line, you could be sitting quite nicely.

  • canadamuayguy says:

looks like a sick event im new hardcore fan what up guys am i logged now???

  • canadamuayguy says:

hey kris can u send me a e-mail let me know if im logged on this site???

  • justin says:

Just watched the videos on here. Manhoef and Overeem really hit the off button didn’t they?

All those people worried about Manhoef’s size disadvantage were getting upset for nothing.

    Glad Overeem blasted Hari.

The end of the CroCop fight was a bit anti-climactic…in fact so was the rest of the fight. CroCop seemed to take a page out of Machida’s book for this one, Machida would not do well in Japan. I bet some of the reason CroCop did not do so well in the UFC is that he can’t where his shoes.

  • FR702 says:

well congrats to the victors, by the looks of the video’s above seemed to be a hell of an event, HDNet should have covered this

132 to dispose of Alvarez, well clearly Shinya is the #2 LW in the world not much to that o and he is the WAMMA disputed champ congrats

Melvin um destroyed Hunt 18 seconds a mean ass ko

    CC well u won

K~1 vitory for Overeem is interesting and the destruction of Hari was just that

    Schilt by triangle??

Musasi is coming into his own now and people are going to start to reconize his talents and stop underestimating him

  • surfingk5 says:

Wow, Hunt’s button must be getting bigger.

    • FR702 says:

or maybe he should take this sport seriously and train/put forth an effort towards making himself a bit better, he use to be the Big Kiwi that could but damn…

o and Melvin hit him really really hard, that might have something to do with it

  • gunslinger says:

wow……that as to be one of the best ko’s of the year……koing mark hunt out like that is an acomplishment no one does that to hunt he has a head of concrete and manhoef just broke it to bits…..cro cop vs hong I knew thats what would happen….a couple kicks to the legs and the redwood that is hong man falls, though it did last longer than I thought…..im sad aoki won…I like the dude but I dont consider him the best lw and never will, unless he beats bj,hellboy(rubber match is coming) and sherk which he wont…Aoki isnt well rounded hes all jits,so even though he is a wizard on the ground and i admire his ground game but until he becomes more well rounded I wont be a fan

    • fr702 says:

how you can you not be a fan of his jitz, hell gun you train and you know how difficult what he does is.. BJ Penn is the #1 LW in the world no doubt Aoki is clearly #2… a rubber match with HellBoy is possible but he has to face JZ first imo, im not sure if Aoki could beat Penn but that is a match that im clearly wanting to see.. As far as becoming well rounded Aoki went to Thailand to start on that quest of becoming more well rounded before this fight… I do believe that Aoki could beat Sherk (back to the classic argument of Wrestling v BJJ as best base for MMA) and Sherk doesnt have the power in his hands that the guys Aoki has beaten do.. if you dont like him fine whatever im just stating my opionion gun cheers

    • justin says:

re: “i admire his ground game but until he becomes more well rounded I wont be a fan”

Not sure how to respond to that. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought you were pretty high on Dean Lister and Demian Maia, why is Aoki different from those two?

      • gunslinger says:

Ive always been a fan of dean ever since I saw him on one of those fighting science shows i dont now which one…..I think maia is good but im not like a fan of his, I wouldnt mind if he lost….aoki i admire his ground game and I know his stuff is hard to do I hope to be able to pull some of his stuff off in a fight sometime…..I hope to move and train with eddie bravo or ari bolden someday….Ive read eddies books and love them Ive used some of the techniques to cath people in training….Ive caught my friend justin in a mounted gogoplata/aokiplata and have even used alot of other things that ive learned form different people, videos, websites, and books to kinda make my own kinda style……ive just never been a fan of manty japanese fighters mainly because i cant pronounce alot of there names so i just call them by there nicknames…..Iwatch alot of aokis fights but just have never became a fan?

      • justin says:

        gun,
While all that (sort of) makes sense. It doesn’t answer the fact that in your previous post you made it out that his one dimensional, jits only style was why you didn’t like him. Not any of the things in that post. Besides, the fact that Dean is jits only and you like him, but then you knock someone else for being jits only….just doesn’t make sense.

  • fr702 says:

Justin, i thankyou for allowing me and us to view these fights, and Kris to you as well thankyou..

Aoki with the buttscoot into a head kick attack is sick hahaha, but the way he took a kick from Eddie and went immediately to the ground the right into a submission attempt, then to complete the submission thats how to work the groundgame kids nicely done, and Eddie looked to be in alot of pain do to Aoki attempting to remove his leg and take it home with him

  • DR.DOOM says:

We have learned alot from this card . The top three for me was 1] Mousasi is a dangerous guy PERIOD!! And quite possibly the guy with the talent to beat a guy like anderson silva down the road . 2] manhoef is the mike tyson of mma . his last few fights have been quick .3] overeem is on a roll …. and is a top 5 heavyweight as of late .he’d eat kongo who i thought would be a good matchup for . but not after this .

    • FR702 says:

Mousasi is dangerous no doubt, i also dont think he will get an oppritunity to face Anderson Silva but he is really good

Overeem is crazy good rightnow, I wish for him to comeback to the states and defend his StrikeForce HW belt

Aoki got acknowledge by WAMMA as the disputed LW champion yet didnt have the class to present him with the strap, they will give it to him “at a later date” classy move WAMMA F you

      • justin says:

Wow, I didn’t even catch that bit… ridiculous. Useless worthless belt/organization.

      • justin says:

        From another website:
“Personally, the most decisive fight in the world, the culmination, the pinnacle for me is B.J. Penn,” Aoki said on the eve of arguably his greatest victory. “Please do not misunderstand — I really need this to be clearly expressed in the media: Shinya Aoki will not go to the UFC. I just want to fight B.J. Penn. This is my selfish wish. I know that everyone says they want Penn, but I think I’m the number one Japanese fighter to be saying this.”

  • gunslinger says:

eat kongo dr.doom…I think not….no one can eat kongo his awesomeness is just to aesom fo anyn totake him….kongo would decion overeem imo!

    • justin says:

Did you suddenly forget how to type, or was that intentional?

      • gunslinger says:

sorry justin I have a wireless keyboard and it started to run out of batteries which caused it to malfunction while i was typing….sorry i cant believe i accidently put “FO”

    • DR.DOOM says:

have to disagree on that gun……. kongo and crocop went the distance while overeem was all over him . Comparing their performances against a similar opponent , not to mention the roll overeem is on …. i’ still say alistair takes him .

  • fr702 says:
