Mike Brown vs. Leonard Garcia To Headline March WEC Event in Florida

WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown will square off with Leonard Garcia in his first defense of the 145-pound title.
MMAJunkie.com confirmed the matchup over the weekend and both fighters are set to sign official agreements soon.
The bout will headline a March event that is likely to take place in Florida.
Brown (20-4), a winner of eight-straight, earned the title with a first-round TKO of Urijah Faber. Garcia (12-3) most-recently posted back-to-back first-round TKOs of Hiroyuki Takaya and Jens Pulver.

we all knew this was comeing, i like garcia in this match but i think faber will be getting his belt back who ever wins this fight.

I am looking forward to seeing whether Mike Brown was a flying elbow in the pan or whether there is a second 145er at the top of the food chain.
I’m thinking Brown will be there waiting for Faber to take it back. Had he not caught Faber I think it would have continued to be a great fight. Maybe have gone to decision. I look forward to the rematch for sure.

i think brown wins this unless he gets caught with a huge punch but i think brown will beat faber a second time if they fight again…it just looks like he is a good enough wrestler and striker to frustrate faber and it causes faber to make mistakes and i think brown can do it again

Im supprised that more people are not picking Garcia in this fight. His bjj has always been good and how about the -intent- on his punches these days? That plus Greg J in the corner makes me think he will take this. I have not seen nearly enough of Mike Brown to say its a sure thing though.

see i understand greg jackson is in garcias corner but ive never seen garcia do the nipple tweak…..if garcia tweaks his nipple he wins, if not he loses
Greg Jackson could make a big difference, then if he tweaks his nipples to, its over for sure. I’m changing my pick, unless Brown tweaks his as well.

I disagree with the other DaNNyBoY more than I do with you…he needs an avatar so I can associate my anger with something.
Should be a great fight but I have to think Mike Brown is just to big. That guy is a monster in this division. He made Faber look small and Faber usually makes everyone else look small. But with that said Garcia does throw ridiculously hard and could always end it.
Garcia is at Albq. fulltime now, first time for any of his fights, no distractions from childhood friends, groupies and 100% concentration from Greg Jackson to put his guy in a belt. Mike Brown needs to practice getting hit, falling down and then explaining why he underestimated the ‘BADBOY’ Cerda
I can’t stand Garcia, and every time he fights, I want him to lose.
I’m putting money points up for Brown. If Brown makes Garcia cry, $250. If he makes Garcia say, “I wish I was never born, and thank you Mike Brown for showing me the terrible misfortune of my existence” (or something to that effect) $500. If he punches Garcia into the hospital to the point where Garcia can never fight again, $1000.
