Veteran Justin Levens, Wife Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide

Veteran mixed martial artist Justin Levens and his wife, Sarah McLean-Levens, were found shot dead yesterday at their home in Southern California.
Authorities investigating the deaths suspect it to be a murder-suicide based on preliminary findings, including no signs of a struggle and a gun recovered at the scene.
The 28-year old Levens was 9-8 in his professional career, which included stints in the IFL, WEC, and UFC. After a promising 6-0 start, Levens struggled, losing 8 of his next 10 bouts including both of his UFC matchups against Evan Tanner and Jorge Santiago. He has not fought since an October 2007 loss to Kenny Ento, but had been scheduled to compete at Affliction “Banned” in July. He was scratched from the card due to time constraints and subsequently tested positive for the banned painkiller oxymorphone.

The only good news that comes out of a murder – suicide is that the tax payers don’t have to pay to prosecute/imprison the murderer. But it would be an all around better situation if no one died, obviously.
yea i heard this on the news this morning…the headline on the radio was something like “former ufc fighter found dead, suspected murder suicide….the only time mma gets any mainstream press, go figure…sorry to the families though, its gotta be real bad to snap like that (if thats how it went down)
Yeah dude what a tragedy. it’s unbelievable when $hit like this happens. The Benoit situation was a little different cuz that fu%#er offed his son too not juts his wife. Anyways, sad sad story.

They say murder suicide but do we know who murdered who and who committed sucicide. Maybe his wife shot him and killed herself

now come on johnboy…we dont know what happened i really…i mean just because the police found no murder weapon doesnt mean its a suicide…im certain someone did this not sara or justin….justin never seemed like the kind of fighter that was like that…i mean he was always nice in interviews and didnt talk bad about opponents
now i hate to make the comparisons, but they’re so obvious….when i was a kid, chris benoit was my favorite wrestler…down to earth, great guy, family man….when those light go out and the cameras go off, some people are different, some people have problems that they are really good at keeping hidden…
Benoit was a sweetheart of a guy! I never thought he could do something like that, but he did. We see what people want us to see but behind closed doors, its a different matter.

I think they did find the weapon and are currently doing gpr tests and ballistics. Sherdog reports: “Initial evidence suggests Justin Levens was the shooter.” Anyways, its sad.
Oh and: “Amormino said a handgun had been discovered close to the fighter’s body in the couple’s bed.”
They won’t come out and give something that conclusive unless they have the evidence to support it. It is what it is.

All i have to say is R.I.P Justin and his wife justin was a good fighter and he wuill be missed .
this is unfortunate and not because he was a MMA fighter, it is unfortuante because things of this nature happen, if its drug induced, depression, alcholism there is no excuse for such things to happen and im sad for the families and what they must be going through during these holidays, my thoughts go out to them in thier time of need
