after Swick’s stellar performance last week, I think he is comfortable with the weight he is at now, and he could beat thiago. I was really impressed on how Swick was looked and how comfortable he looked. Dana, set it up!!!!
yea swick has a good chance if thiago was hurt i mean theres a reason thiago is up next for a title shot. yea swick is doing good but he’d have to beat someone big for me to go and say that hes that good

Eh, I think him versus Thiago would be a great fight, but Thiago deserves the title shot right now, I wouldn’t want to seem him lose that chance by losing to Swick. Swick should fight Shields when he signs.
Swick would be a good match for thiago alves, but why is he calling him out knowing the fight isn’t going to happen? Thiago get’s GSP after Gsp beats the $hat out of penn.
I think it should be SWICK VS KOS. I’ve been saying this for the longest time. I don’t care if they’re training buds, it’s gay if they don’t fight cuz they are imo in the top ten, top seven ww’s. Only fighter i like @ AKA is fitch. The rest are quueeerrrssss

Kris, I’m having cookie issues in firefox. If I clear them all, reload the home page, then sign in it takes, but seems to expire and won’t take until I manually clear cookies again if I go several hours without returning.
Update… It looks like Firefox isn’t clearing out old cookies because now I have 2 wordpress_logged_in_ cookies from mmafrenzy.com. One expires at the end of the session, one that expires on the 28th. One, the host is mmafrenzy.com and one it is .mmafrenzy.com.
Manually deleting both and logging back in solves the problem.
Thanks for the info, I know exactly what caused the dual cookies and have fixed it. Everyone will likely need to clear their cookies one more time and re-login then ya’ll should be set.

Y not match swick against parysian?
Parisyan is fighting superbowl weekend, if he doesn’t get hurt or flake out. That would make Swick have to wait a while to fight him. Also, I think Parisyan is on shaky ground with the UFC because of his health (physical and mental) problems.

swick alvez would be awesome. i gotta disagree with the person that thinks alvez could take Penn/GSP…Penn and GSP are no. 1 and 2 Pound for pound fighters in the history of the UFC, or any fighting org/sport imo.
I’m having the problem too. Karo is fighting kim so he can’t fight swick and shields is still a free agent right? Dude, how come i am the only one who thinks it should be KOS VS SWICK? Teamates or not, they are top ww’a and they should fight since ALL of the top WW’s are already booked. Karo’s fighting kim,diego moved to lw, alves is fighting gsp after gsp destroys penn, and fitch is already booked with some other dude. IT SHOULD BE KOS VS SWICK dudes.

Kos v Swick might happen someday yet is unlikely no matter how much u want AKA members to fight one another its just not happening….

GREAT matchup. Alves would probably/maybe win. But dont count out swick. Alves has NOT faced anyons who is as quick and fast as Swick. I think alves should have to fight Swick. It would prepare Alves for gsp’s speed and athleticism. And think about how much time alves is going to have to wait till he gets his title shot. After gsp fights penn, we all know he will need more than a few months to relax and get back to training for a complete diff. style fighter in alves. Alves should fight swick this spring or summer. THEN, the winner of that matchup faces gsp for the title in th Fall. Its perfect.
gsp has to win first jenkins…penn will probably beat him this time around i just have a feeling……but alves should not have to fight swick unless he wants to ..also though i dont think he will do as good against the winner of penn/gsp if he has ring rust…i say feed alves a can but then theres always the chance of alves being upset by a nobody…when you think about alves is in a bad position…they shouldnt have even had penn face gsp yet…..it should be penn vs florian at ufc 92 and it should be alves vs gsp in january…i am actually kinda getting tired of the ufc always holding up the titles…..its stupid
have to agree with you Gun. I think BJ Penn is out for blood against GSP and after seeing them at the match-up conference I think GSP looked really uncomfortable around Penn. Who knows though it can all change when the cage door closes.

I also don’t think the fight is likely to happen, on account of Thiago’s situation, but I think Swick has proven he is a serious force in the division, and deserves a top oppenent. However, they are all training partners or matched up, and for those who aren’t convinced of his deservedness, there is another up and comer who I beleive has earned top guys in the division as well — Hazelett. That could be interesting due to his slick submissions. Other than that all I can come up with is maybe Blackburn, Kampmann (matched up already??), or Sotiropolus (what ever happened to that guy?)
Sotiropoulos is still with the UFC he was supposed to fight at UFC 87 against Karo but was forced to withdrawal due to injury so look for him again soon.

you guys are all nuts because alves definetly be fighting swick but its gonna be after he gets the **** kicked out of him by gsp its such a bad match for alves its not even funny . alves has always had troubles with wrestlers and gsp will take him down at will and he has more weapons on his feet to, dont think thats how he will do it but it could be in the game plan.
you guys are crazy if u think alves will beat gsp it is the worst match up for him. he has always had trouble with wrestlers and this time he is stepping in with the best,gsp is laughing at this match up he will take him down at will and could use his stand up to he has a more wide variety of strikes. then once that happens then he will fight swick when he is back down the totem poll
You’re assuming that GSP will beat BJ. I think people should probably hold off on the GSP vs. Alves talk until he gets past BJ in January.
Also, I wanted to take this back on topic a little bit, which is Swick calling out Alves. We already know Alves is guaranteed a title shot with that information in mind, there won’t be a Swick versus Alves fight before that happens. Maybe Swick can fight Anthony Johnson next, that would be a good fight.

I think this goes back to the same situation with Kenny Florian and Sean Sherk wanting to fight him again. Basically, what would Alves or Florian have to gain by risking there #1 contender spots… nothing, but they would have a lot to lose if they lost. I think it is kind of unfair to call one of these guys(Alves-Florian) out right considering the champions in both divisions have pretty much tied up the belts until at least 6-7 months from now. Oh well we will see if either Florian or Alves get a little stir-crazy having to wait on their respective title shots.

True gsp does have to fight pen first and i think it is going to be a great fight but i think gsp is going to come out on top i think as long as he fights smart there is no one that will beat him just like anderson silva. but as for swick vs johnson that would be a barn burner it would definitly be a good fight

i think alvez and florian should both get a tune-up fight against Joe Riggs before their title shots…a minor punching bag that they shouldnt get injured against.

Dude i agree. JOhnson vs swick would be sick! Swick just wants a shortcut to a title shot just like kos wanted…but we all know how that turned out. I say alves should wait to fight GSP cuz it’s going to be fun watching him get destroyed by GSP. Swick should fight johnson and kos should fihgt kampman.
I just don’t think Johnson is ready yet, even Davis had to wipe the floor with a several scrubs before getting a shot with Koscheck.
We’re not talking about Johnson fighting Kos, we’re talking about Johnson fighting Swick. IMO, Kos is better than Swick, but we will probably never find out for sure, unless one of them changes camps.
