The Ultimate Fighter 8 “Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir” Weigh-In Results

Fighters tipped the scales moments ago in Las Vegas to weigh in for the matchups tomorrow night at The Ultimate Fighter 8 “Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir” Finale, which takes place at The Pearl at the Palms and airs live on Spike TV.
Middleweight Wilson Gouveia failed to make weight for his scheduled middleweight contest against Jason MacDonald, weighing in at 189 pounds, three pounds over the 186 pound middleweight limit.
Lightweight finalists Phillipe Nover (156) and Efrain Escudero (156) and light heavyweight finalists Ryan Bader (205) and Vinicius Magalhaes (205) all successfully made weight for their co-headlining bouts. The remainder of the ten-fight card also successfully made weight.

I just put my fantasy picks for this card in a few minutes ago. Did better than I though on the Fight for the Troops card, came in 86th out of 17109.

The couple guys that came in at ~203 could probably safely lose some weight just through a better diet and get to a point of making a <10lbs cut to 185. The 155ers on the other hand, if they cut down weight classes, they also cut down promotions, and purses…I’d stay at 155 too. Probably going to watch the weigh-ins, later tonight or tomorrow, revisit my picks and then post them on here.

They might be able to cut to 185, but as we saw with Danzig they still have to fight in the same weight class as on the show then move up or down Rashad Evans and Bisbing as well

Those guys were all the winners of the show, though. I’m talking about the ones that weren’t, though I suppose they probably still are expected to fight at that same weight for the finale. But in the end, doesn’t that negate the point you were trying to make?

That’s why I told you to get DVR. It solves almost all TV related problems in life, until you figure out that you want to record 3-4 things at the same time, and its only got two tuners, that sucks. Thankfully some channels (history, BBCA, discovery, and more) show stuff 2-3 times within 24-36 hours.

I mean register for MMAFrenzy as in this site. At the very top of the page, where it says “sign up” click that. Or, if you can’t find that for some reason, I’ll give you a link. You will need to sign up at UFC.com as well. If you can use southcakalak as your username there it would make thing’s easier.

If you don’t have the sign up option you’re going to have a hard time logging in in the future, because that’s right beside sign up. What browser are you using? Also, the Login, and Sign up buttons are directly under the address bar in the upper left corner, if you scroll all the way to the top of the page, and its there on every page.

I hope your picks are decent, we’ve got the same winners on all but one fight. Minutes and rounds are really a crap shoot if you ask me. You could easily pick a guy to go out there and win by murder in the first minute, because he should. Then that jerk will pull a Silva v. Cote and play with him, or the other jerk could pull a Kalib Starnes. Then your round/minute picks are shot.
