UFC Fight Night 11: Florian To Replace Fisher in Main Event
Spencer Fisher has been forced to withdraw from his UFC Fight Night 11 headlining event against Din Thomas due to a staph infection. News has since surfaced that top lightweight fighter Kenny Florian will fill in for Fisher in the main event. Florian was previously rumored to be fight at UFC 78 in New Jersey and, barring an injury following his fight against Thomas, Florian may fight at both events.
Tim Sylvia and Drew McFedries, both of whom train with Fisher at Miletich Fighting Systems in Iowa, have also contracted the infection. Both McFedries and Sylvia were tentatively scheduled to fight at UFC 77 in Cincinnati. Though the bouts are still more than two months away the infections may affect their ability to fight at the event.
