Gun;
I didn’t see your post about your friend until days later, but my prayers were with you for sure. I’m fairly new to this site, but have grown to love all your comments and insight as well as everyone else. The response from the guys on here was honestly touching and i’m glad everything worked out for your friend.
I agree with the majority of your picks with the only major exception being that I have Kos winning by some form of rug burn.
Gun, good to hear that your friend is doing well… We had your back forsure, I’m pleased to hear all is good… Now back to MMA hey Gun sign~up for Justins fan leauge whynot??
Yes the Farber fight I believe is @ catch weight of 173
*Roger Huerta signed a new 5 fight deal with the UFC*
Kos winning by rug burn that’s good haha
Nice acknowledgment as well Joesamaaaa
Glad you’re back and all is well gun.
and props to joesmama…or whatever his name is…very cool
Fioravanti-Farber is at a catchweight of 173. I’m not sure why it’s not a true welterweight fight, though my guess is one of the fighters knew the weight wasn’t coming off, contacted the UFC and the other fighter’s camp, and agreed to the 173 catchweight.
Maybe this will set a trend and help to open more weight classes??? You can’t allow that w/out repercussions. Interesting for sure.
Gun,
Glad things are working out. Join the UFC Fantasy group I created, anyone else is welcome as well.
The catch weight thing is curious, for sure. I wanted to go down to the weigh-ins, but I wasn’t sure how open to the public they were, and I was tied up back here in Raleigh so…that stinks but I’m sure the UFC will be back in NC, at least I hope so anyways.
surfing,
Not sure about opening up the weight classes. I do think that some of the weight classes are a big jump, and it gives some other fighters a chance at belts, but then think about the weight classes that aren’t so well stocked, they would only get worse. Its a mixed bag.
FR,
Thanks for the info on Huerta, that’s good news.
Another note on the fantasy thing, to the guys signed up, they just changed the card on the fantasy site today, so you’ll have to re-pick the Wiman fight, if you haven’t already.
Justin, thanks for calling me out, first of all…wise a**. Second, I don’t know what the problem is but I’m having issues with my UFC account. Trying to get it resolved. I see the invite but can’t do anything about it. Working on it though. I’ll let you know. Just got the last notification of a post for the group. Anyway…probably have to count me out on this one.
As for the topic…I think they just opened the door for more weight classes. It’s that or they appreciate someone willing to say “hey, I’m a fat a**”. Either way I think it’s a good move. I suspect we’ll here something within a week after the fights explaining the change.
glad to see you back Gun. Also I agree on your Al-Hassan pick but I am reluctant to call that an upset in my eyes haha.
Surfing- I have to say the only new division I think they should add is a cruiser weight division (225 or so). If you add too many it dilutes the talent pool in my opinion.
FR- Glad to hear that about Huerta though after the Florian I have to be honest I didn’t see him going anywhere else.
ya i tried to set up the ufc fantasty thing but like whenever i typed in MMA frenzy nothing came up….my account name is gunslinger09 so send me an invite instead or something…i dont know but it wasnt working
Guys you are quite welcome for the Huerta thing, didn’t want to just throw it out there but I thought it was something most would like to know
gun,
I need your email address to send you an invite, pop me a message using the messenger here and I will send it to you. I took MMA Frenzy off the search page today because I kept getting requests from people not associated with the site, I think someone ended up on there that’s not associated with the site anyways a guy named joeydevil9, unless that’s you surfingk5.
Do u have your picks finaliZed Justin? After seeing weigh in picks I might change a few of my decisons….
I may go back over my picks tomorrow, its too late to mess with it now.
Kris,
if you have any numbers on attendance for the weigh-in I’d like to know what they were.
Didn’t realize it was too late owell so be it, my first attempt soo see what happens
Justin, not me…I already have a super cool name bud.
fr, definetely cool about Huerta. I’m pretty sure I predicted he wasn’t going to leave and would pull his head out of his arse. As long as he stopped thinking for himself.
I’m interested in the deal…Five fights, he doesn’t have five fights to a title shot. Hopefully there won’t be anymore tantrums.
Chris L., they definetely need a new weight for the heavys. I don’t know what the normal heavy classes are for organizations but I think if they plan to continue trying to attract real heavy talent they need to change.
As for the other weight classes they could potentially make one between each of the existing classes now. It would give more people opportunity for a belt. More fights. Maybe room for more fighters. Healthier for some fighters. The down side would be clutter and more ppv to fork out cas for. It could get overbearing and lose appeal like BOXING…j/k. I don’t know what the solution would be.
Any other thoughts. I think this has been discussed before. My apologies for only having interest now. I would like to know what other alternatives there are.

FR,
I changed my picks after looking at the weigh-in pics. I also decided that even though I think Kos will win, I want Yoshida to win, so I had better pick the way I’m going to be pulling for the fight to go.
That Razak dude looks crazy, i think he will pull an upset
Kos wins by UD
If you’re having a hard time getting onto the fantasy league, and you’re already registered at ufc.com, login and then try this link. Hopefully that will sort out the league join problems.
Justin I want Yoshida to win as well but Kos will probably go all UD on us or some shhh.. After seeing the weigh ins it does tend to have u second guess your original picks, atleast I did this time..
Yeah, Razak definitely had me making a change, that dude is big. He doesn’t look big in the head shot they have of him, but he’s pretty big, and he looked a lot meaner and more certain of himself. Cantwell looked really uncertain.
<—- hahaha sorry its great
