I would love to see AA throw some of those front kicks to try to keep Fedor back out of range, and use the reach advantage to out box him. Fedor would cut and it would be a real interesting fight.

  • Nico says:

Arlovskis Tranning did not impress me much, pretty basic but i know the man gots skills and he is one of the best in shape hevyweights in the division. I think he has the chance to pull an upset if he fights a really smart, agressive, defensive type fight. The man has the ability but fedor has the mind set every fighter wishes for. Fador goes after you and is not afraid to trade and does not give up. The Pit Bull must fight really hard and agressive if he wants to win.

  • Chris L. says:

Nico- Don’t bet on Arlovski going after Fedor. This honest to god has the potential to be a long decision that a lot of non-grappling fans will actually be asking why they bought the card. Arlovski is deadly on the ground as well. Arlovski, like Fedor, is very tactical and usually tries to let the other guy make the first mistake. So expect him to try and work those low kicks and avoid the heavy exchanges. Once it gets to the ground expect both to try to work ground and pound from the top and stall on the bottom. Neither of these guys wants to get into a submission war with the other but it is very possible it could happen. I predict the first round will resemble a K-1 kickboxing match and then it will go more to the ground in the later rounds and Fedor wins by split. As a long time SAMBO guy I cannot wait for this fight!

  • Nico says:

I think the fight will remain standing in the first as well and I am not counting on Arlovski going after Fedor, like i said The Pit Bull needs to be a real aggressive counter fighter if he wants to win. not the type that runs away the whole fight and trys to squeek by a decision but one that strikes back hard everytime the opponent trys to make a move. Fedor is real tactical yes but also very aagressive and takes the fight to his oppenents. He will be the agressor for sure and Arlovski better be ready and yes lots of leg kicks to keep Fadors distance. I think the fight will go to the ground at some points in the fight but the majority standing because of Arlovski’s takedown defense and great conditioning. I predict Fedor By TKO due to strikes in the 2nd or third. But if The Pit bull is agressive he can pull out a decission win.

  • Josh V says:

Arlovski is faster, and that’s pretty much all he has on Fedor. Look for him to move well, use his jab efficiently and try to avoid the takedown. He’ll be elusive, committing seldom, but when he does, it most likely will back Fedor up a bit. Agree?

  • Chris L. says:

I pretty much agree with both of you to be honest. the main disadvantage for Arlovski is that he doesn’t have one big thing he is good at that is that much better at than Fedor. The only problem with the leg kicks in my experience is that if a guy knows how to properly check them then you end up just exposing yourself for a take down later on when you’re tired an those kicks run a lil longer than usual.

  • Vinz C1ortho says:

If AA tries to kick Fedor too much he’ll end up on his back getting punched in the legs then subbed. AA is a great fighter but Fedor is much better.. a loss via decision against Fedor should be considered a win for AA, don’t expect that tho.

Prediction: Fedor systematically dismantles AA and AA gets boned in the ass. Should be a great fight tho.

  • dbiz says:

Ok, I watched that high-intensity training…and I’m not intimidated. Not by that clip anyway. Whoopy.

  • Chris L. says:

Off his back AA is still very dangerous, it’s more on his feet he has to worry. His chin is what is most suspect not his submission defense.

  • Vinz C1ortho says:

There is a world of difference between “being good off your back” and “being good against FEDOR off your back”

  • B Free says:

Its hard to be intimidated by a tape, but if i ever got in the cage with AA i’m pretty positive i’d poop my pants. But i still got Fedor just because he’s Fedor. AA has a chance but you can never count Fedor out and you know he’s watching this with his doughboy expression less face waiting to tear AA apart.

  • mikew says:

I have always been impressed with Arlovski’s conditioning and his athletisicm. I think he will use these qualities to try and stay outside and circle throwing shots from the outside. He seems to be ready for this physically and maybe the underdog status will be better suited to him than the high expectations placed on him in the UFC. I think AA is his own worst enemy though, maybe he overthinks things, you have to trust that your work in the Gym is solid and really go for it in the fight. He is sometimes too tentative.

  • Chris L. says:

Fedor will try to ground and pound on arlovski trust me. It makes more sense to pound him out than to finish him off with a sub is all I am saying

  • JL says:

Found it interesting Arlovski is training with Freddie Roach (Manny Pacquiao’s trainer).

  • mikew says:

Freddy is a great old school Boxing coach, but there is a difference in MMA striking for sure, alot more you have to be aware of, like getting kicked in the head for instance. That would hurt.

  • Vinz C1ortho says:

I agree with you mike.. I can’t remember how many AA fights I have watched and found myself screaming.. JUST GO AT HIM AND FINISH IT AHHHHHHH.. then he end up loosing or winning a very boring decision,

He needs to develop his killer instinct a bit more, or possibly trust it better then he does now because he frequently misses good opportunities to finish fights

  • sambruce says:

Fedor wins by Armbar in 1:01.

  • surfingk5 says:

    Vinz C1ortho, well put

  • rob says:

FEDOR IS THE BEST FIGHTER EVER! HES PROVEN TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AGAIN. WHEN ALL MMA FIGHTERS LOSE HE WINS AA IS ****ING A JOKE NOT EVEN SAME LVL OR EVEN CLOSE AND NO FIGHTER CAN BEAT HIM SAMBO IS NOT MMA!!!!!!!1

  • Justin says:

I just love it when someone does a drive by thread resurrection.
