I hope gurgel is still with the ufc,they guy is so talented but i just dont understand his gameplans, y would a top rate bbj blackbelt wanna standup for 3 rounds with a guy known for his stand up n toughness, especially with dellagrotti in his corner a great trainer surely he should be saying look for the takedown n submit this guy?

And if I want a pre-scripted combat sport that goes the full scheduled time I’ll watch a championship boxing match for anyone but heavyweights. (I know its not that bad, but I had to get that jab in.)

Exactly. Three hours of Gurgel vs. Riley would be acceptable to me. So would three hours of McLovin et al. Eff the WWE. If I want soap operas, I’ll stay home in the middle of the day and watch network television.

Ryan i thought i saw that @ BE, but whatever the WWE can say what they want see this is unscripted and if i see all 9 or so fights and the PPV ends “early” due to a great night of fights so be it, sat was well worth my hard earned dollars…. and even if i did see 3 hours of decisions that would be ok with me as long as they were great bouts, not Starnes v Quarry but thats just me i guess

Yeah it was an awesome card. I thought I read (here maybe???) that the WWE posted something about how the UFC had to struggle to fill the broadcast time allotted for the show.

Personally I see that as a good thing. I’d much rather have the event over in a 1.5 hours and see all KO’s / Subs than have it go for 3 hours and have it all be decisions. Quality not quantity people. Then again… any comment from the WWE should be taken with a grain of salt.

Pretty good night of fights, i liked Bocek’s display of Jits and of course Dustin Hazelett’s was great. This card lacked the excitement of some but was more than entertaining. One thing that bothers me was the guy that fought Gonzaga, he may be good in some organizations but he wasnt ready for this challenge. Or was Gabe that good, i see him one day going up against Lesnar…interesting fight. I guess the UFC will now market their HW title fights as David vs Goliath, if Couture sticks around and spanks a few more guys will there be a rematch?

UFC 91 was by far the best PPV of the year in my opinion, i love seeing fights end in knockout and submission and seeing slugfests like riley and gurgel
