Jason LambertThe UFC has cut middleweight Jason Lambert from its roster of fighters, according to Five Ounces of Pain.

Lambert won three-straight light heavyweight bouts over Rob MacDonald, Terry Martin, and Branden Lee Hinkle to open his UFC career but was forced to drop to the 185-pound middleweight division after losing three of his next four fights. In his middleweight debut at UFC 88 in September, Lambert was submitted in the second round by Jason MacDonald, marking his third-straight loss in the octagon.

The news comes less than one week after the reported release of heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum.
