UFC 69: Belcher Talks Trash on Grove
In a recent Q&A with UFC.com Alan Belcher (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) did some trash talking on UFC 69 opponent Kendall Grove (7-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC):
“I think this fight is perfect for me and I couldn’t be happier with the matchup. I get to beat up trash-talking Kendall Grove. I wasn’t picked for the show that he won, so I get to skip to the guy who won it and it’s not even going to be that big of a challenge. I’m just gonna go in there and smash him. He doesn’t have anything for me, he also doesn’t know how to use his reach to be dangerous as a tall guy, and he’s not good enough to beat me. “
Team Voodoo member Belcher beat Jorge Santiago at Fight Night 7 in December but lost to fellow UFC 69 fighter Yushin Okami in August. Belcher is talking a lot of trash for a fighter who lost his two arguably biggest fights to Okami and Marvin Eastman who, despite holding a 0-2 UFC record, boasts an impressive .
Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Grove defeated Ross Pointon and Kalib Starnes in unofficial UFC fights during the show before beating Ed Herman and Chris Price in UFC matches.
This feud may add the spark that UFC 69 needed with a card that many UFC fans are not overly impressed with. Just check out the poll results if you don’t know what I mean.
