Martin Kampmann To Drop To Welterweight, Signs New Four-Fight Deal With UFC

Martin KampmannMartin Kampmann has signed a new, four-fight deal with the UFC and will drop from the 185-pound middleweight division to the 170-pound welterweight division, according to his agent, Ken Pavia, who confirmed the news with Five Ounces of Pain.

Kampann emerged as a potential middleweight contender, racking up nine-straight victories including four UFC wins over Crafton Wallace, Thales Leites, Drew McFedries, and Thales Leites, but was defeated by Nate Marquardt via first-round TKO at UFC 88 in September prompting his move to welterweight.

“The Hitman’s” next fight has not yet been announced.
