Cote has a set on him. Crazy bastard

  • Willy D says:

Going to be a great fight, both Silva and Cote looked ready. Awesome stare down!

  • M3 says:

I got to say Cote on this one its just seams like he wants it more

  • FR702 says:

    “Serra effect” taking over MMAFrenzy.com?????

  • UFC fan says:

    ???

    my hopfully win:

    COTE
    SHERK
    FRANCA
Koscheck wished nightmare was fighting instead
    MAYNARD
    FISHER

    good luck to those fighters

  • Surfingk5 says:

I’d like to see Cote win especially since I have money on him. However, we are talking about Anderson freakin Silva. I really think this will be a great fight.

but i am a little drunk right now so who knows

  • the rob says:

I’d give Michael Bisping more of a shot at beating Fedor Emilianenko than Cote beating Silva.

    no chance.

  • Justin says:

    Silva
    Alves
    Werdum
    Sherk
    Maynard
    Leites
    Fisher
    Miller
    Franca
Sell (would have taken burkman, but not sure how the weight cut will affect him)

  • RyanMoney says:

What is it with Burkman and not making weight on time. This is like the 3rd time now in a couple of years that I know of. So unprofessional. If I was him I would either hire a nutritionist or sack the one he has. Hell, if my fat lazy ass can make weight on time for fights then sure as hell he/someone of his level can.

  • FR702 says:

“Serra Effect” was a conversation that most of us had the other day UFCfan, because Cote is such a dog v Silva the fear is that Cote will shock the world and ko Silva ie “Serra effect”:::cliff note version

    My picks

    Burkman
    Franca
    Miller (tho I enjoy Horwich)
    King Fisher
    McFedries (needs this win)
Maynard v Clementi (I want a great fight between these two I’m not picking a winner just want to enjoy the fight)
    Griffin
    dos Santos
    Alves
    Anderson “the Spider” Silva

  • KOuch says:

Burkman is garbage! His last win was a SPLIT decision over….hmm….Forrest Petz…..who???? Forrest Petz(unless I missed something) almost a year or more ago. I do not understand how some fans view Burkman so highly. I feel bad calling him garbage but he does not belong in the UFC right now.

Silva is going to hurt Cote. NO SERRA EFFECT!!! Silva is my favorite fighter in the whole wide world but if he does lose…..I would not be too pissed off. I would be in shock and amazed the Patrick the Truck Cote won. Anyone remember the boos from Cote;s last fight? The fans were bored because no one was pushing the pace. Cote better have a trick up his sleeve and taken a 360 in fighting style if he wants even the slightest chance. An iron jaw is meaningless when it comes to fighting Silva. The best thing about the match up is Cote will likely stay standing and get KTFO.

I have a crappy feeling Kos wins by take downs and control. If that is the case we can all look foward to a slightly boring match. I felt Diego would win as well had he been able to fight. The way I see it, technical ability over comes power more times than not. NOT ALWAYS! I hope that is the case. I F-ing cannot stand KOS! I want to have a beer with the guy or chill just to see if he is likeable in any way as far as human beings go. I really think he wants the fans to like him….his personality has some sort of social defect and needs repairing….that’s all.

  • Justin says:

    KOuch,
In regards to Kos as a person, I watched the “Countdown” show on spike last night, and after watching that he seems like he has grown out of some of the crap he did on TUF. He’s also made some decisions to help him keep control of his life. I gained a lot of respect for him, but still have seen enough from him to say that I like him now, I just dislike him less at this point.

  • KOuch says:

    Justin,

“Dislike him less.” LOL…I like that one.

It’s not that I like you now Mr. Koscheck, I just dislike you less. There is still hate in my body for you.

    -Justin

  • FR702 says:

Kos is a cocky lil shhh, yet one thing I did like to hear is that he had quit drinking, in every annoying encounter I’ve had with Kos has been while he was drinking sooo perhaps the sober Kos is a better person (typical in people that are pricks when they drink)
KOuch, I dislike Sell more than I dislike Burkman hince I pick Burkman…. I believe that Spider will win too

  • huertarogerhuerta says:

hey kris just thought u might wanna kno accordin to ufc.com burkman made 171 an hour later

  • KOuch says:

    FR,

Sell should be out of the UFC too in my opinion. I feel loser is out and the winner had better look impressive in his next match.

  • FR702 says:

KOuch, I agree with you if its a boring ass fight get rid of them both why not??

Hey are u going to the StrikeForce event in a month???

  • TheGreenBoneR says:

For those that wanted an update.

Burk did make weight with in the hour he was given to lose it.

  • chuck says:

Go Patrick Cote!!! Silva is a great champ but I would love to see Cote shake things up! Then a potential rematch??? It would help out the division a great deal if anyone could take out the Spider……and Cote has the power to do it…..

  • brandon says:

    I have

    Silva
    Kos
    Sherk
    Maynard
    Werdum
    Horwich
    Burkman

I think Kos is sooo underrated.. I see him as being the #2 guy right behind GSP. he’s insane and he is only getting better!

  • FR702 says:

Chuck, it definately would mix things up to say the least.. Is it possible, hey its the fight game anything is possible.. Many people seem to be just waiting for Anderson to lose… I take Anderson tho he is the man to put it simply…

Brandon, Kos is extremely talented his standup is getting better everyday this is a fight to see who is absolutly #2 imo, I just personally want to see Kos get ko’d

  • FixXeR says:

The chances Cote beats Silva is…1000000/1. Cote is a cocky, i cant stand him. He will lose decisivly. The only time I have seen Silva in any sorts of trouble is against a fella who is not even in the UFC anymore. Its like he wanted to be mounted…he got out of it easy enough.

  • FixXeR says:

    FR702,

I like McFedries…..I hope he wins…but i dont that he stands a chance against laites.

  • Us And Chuck says:

I also see Cote Shocking everyone.

I do not see a Silva 1st round blow out Cote works with Dellagrotte the man who helped mastermind Florian game plan against Huerta Cote really impressed me in the Almeida fight he looked very good.

Silva wins it will be via sub in the 3rd but i really have this hunch Cote is going to do a Serra on paper he should not win but no fight is won paper.

To me Silva does not seem interested in this fight as much as Paddy…

  • oldman420 says:

Yah, i got to give it to my fellow canadian, even though anderson will pick him apart. Anyway KOS in my opinoin is in top 5 but no way #2, I would like to see him fight hughes or fitch to prove something. Anyway I got.
    Silva
    Alves
    Werdum
    griffin
    rich
    spence
    leites
    franca
    drago

  • seemore says:

Cote is cocky!!!! that’s rich…seems most of these guys are cocky, you have to to believe you’ll win everytime, don’t you? I’d say Cote’s only chance at winning would be to rush Silva and catch him with something (what i thought would be James Irvin’s gameplan, but he decided to box a superior boxer). Burkman/Sell should be a ‘loser retires’ match, but then theoretically they’d both have to retire…or maybe a ladder match…nobody cares anyway…i’d rather watch Ernie and Bert fight.

  • Us And Chuck says:

Bert & Ernie are lovers not fighters ;)

  • Surfingk5 says:

Slowly gaining more respect for KOS and Leben. They’re getting all growed up and so mature…good boys…

Seriously Leben, after the Bisping fight was nothing but respectful and conceded he lost in multiple interviews.

KOS is in the same boat. I think they both just have more respect for the sport. When KOS said that he and Diego spoke a couple weeks I was pretty shocked.

  • JOHNBOY says:

just seen the ufc all access show with anderson silva, made me like anderson silva more but then i saw him playing football with a manchester united top on tu tu tu which is bad form as i hate man u more then anything in this world, then he kept calling football “soccer”, when only americans do that and seen as brazil are one of the best or even thee best football team around i dint like that, so now im hopeing cote kicks his ass, but i also no silva is guna knock him out 1st round haha, i dont think cote respects silva’s hand power which is bad for him

  • Brandon says:

I like Silva and Cote and would not be upset either way. Anything could happen but you would have to be crazy on acid to put any serious $ on Patrick Cote. Did anyone read the fantasy preview on the UFC website? They predicted the outcome of the Sherk/Griffin match to end by TKO. What a joke. If that fight doesn’t go the distance I’ll be more shocked than if Patrick Cote KO’ed the Spider. I also think a lot of people including Werdum (look how fat he was at the weigh ins) are underestimating Junior Dos Santos.

  • RyanMoney says:

I didn’t think Brazil were much good anymore JOHNBOY? Maybe its me being stupid. Everyone shouldn’t watch footy anyway, such a girls sport and sooo unmanly!!! WATCH RUGBY!!! lol Just kidding John, like what you want mate. I do like to see Liverpool do well tho! God knows why seeing as I’m from Dorset.

I do agree with you tho John that Cote seems to think that Silva will be easier than expected. But I can see that the other way around also. I got a feeling that Silva might be seeing Cote as another Lutter or Leben. Maybe he will leave his mind in the locker room or a back door open for Cote to get in!

Just like (and I hate to bring it up as so many have on this page) GSP did towards Serra! It will be an interesting bout tho.

  • KOuch says:

This Cote “hype” is getting carried away. Cote earned this title shot by winning a boring decision in his last match. Silva has speed, technical skill, better stand up, better ground game and pretty much beats Cote in every category of the fight game. Cote needs A LOT of luck in this fight. I see Cote going to sleep early in the first. Cote doesn’t seem to be threat in any way when I look at Silva’s record. We will see……

  • JOHNBOY says:

brazil are still pritty class not as good as they used to be but u wouldn’t back against them. rugby sucks dude haha sayin that im from leeds so i jumped on the leeds rhino band wagon wen they won lol,

anyways int dana doing a blog thing 2day? i lead a boreing life and have nowt else better to do but sit on here and wait for mma news lol

  • DR.DOOM says:

i cant see cote winning this one , but thats why its called an upset.Unfortunately I just cant get excited about this card except for the Werdum matchup……. Wont be buying a UFC until UFC 92 …only three official fights so far listed but when you get jackson – silva Rua – coleman and griffin -evans ,Ill lay the money down on that .

  • Gonzo says:

I believe Silva will win easily. Did you see UFC Access or Countdown? Silva trains like no other.

The Koscheck fight should be exciting, but the rest of the card is a C-. Sherk…who cares anymore. Two fights I’d like to see “may not broadcast,” Aurellio vs. Franca and Burkman vs. Sell.

Dr. Doom, you are right to save your cash. This isn’t worth $20.00, much less $45.00. The UFC will make their money at the gate, not on PPV buys.

The next two UFCs are worth the PPV, this one is not even close.

  • FR702 says:

    Arsenal Gunners!!!!!

Doom, kinda forgot about Big Nog v Mir but who is counting anyways

I’m either going to catch this card somewhere or I will buy it, I have hopes it will be awesome..

  • Gonzo says:

    Johnboy,

The UFC All Access show and the Countdown show were very informative. Silva trains like a mad-man. No one can beat him at 185lbs.

Don’t get on him about calling futbol, soccer. In Portugese, it is futbol, but this show was for American television, so he called it soccer.

He’s from Brasil and I’m sure loves the Brazilian National Team. For someone outside the UK, to wear a Manchester United jersey, states he’s a fan of British Primier League. That is the only jersey sold in overseas stores. He probably doesn’t know anyone on Manchester, except twins Fabio and Rafael Da Silva, Daniel Alves, Rodrigo Possebon, and Luis Anderson. All Brasilieros.

  • FR702 says:

????? Man U is the only jersey sold overseas??? Or did u mean probably the EPL team jersey sold in Brazil?

  • JOHNBOY says:

every1 who no’s football is guna be a fan of the premier leauge as its the best in the world, an im sorry but if i ever see any1 with a man u shirt on i have hate 2wards them even tho there probley cool people.

ive just had a little bet on 2nite cards 1st time ive had a bet on the ufc, and i cant belive how bad the odds are, any how ive aimed or the star’s and done a dos santos cote double £2 returns me £65, but if any1 truley belives dos santos will win hes a good price at 11/2 cote was 4/1 i was expecting more like 10/1.

  • FR702 says:

JohnBoy, I think dos Santos can win this fight against Werdum, this is literally the worse that I’ve ever seen Werdum look physically, dos Santos was shredded dos Santos trains with the Noguiera brothers Lyoto, Anderson Silva a £2 bet should give u back some pretty good coin when dos Santos wins smart bet imo…

  • RyanMoney says:

Yea I agree guys, Werdum looked sloppy in a physical sense. Bloated almost.

Cote being at 4/1 is cool. I stuck a tenner on him at 5/1. I cant help but thinking that ive thrown my money away but look at the 11/1 you got for Serra against GSP.

I cant wait for this card.

lol, the Rhinos band wagon, I hear ya JOHNBOY. Im a Union fan tho! Come on Bath!

  • DR.DOOM says:

CRAP……… thought coleman vs rua was at 92 …. its 93 in dublin ….. oh well mir vs nog will be just fine . the dublin card looks pretty good too so far . The only other show I wanna see is the new years card from japan ….

  • Justin says:

On the Soccer/football thing, it could be that Anderson is learning American English not the Queens English, therefore he would have learned it to be translated as soccer, not football. Also, the point about it being for an American audience is valid. Anyway, looking forward to the fights, got people coming over to watch, should be fun.

  • RyanMoney says:

While I was in Orlando, I had some guy talking to me one night about Soccer/footy. He was asking me about David Beckham and saying that he is the best Englishman ever to play Kickball! lol, I was like “wtf, Kickball?” haha. First time Ive heard it called that.

Over here in England we have a Saturday Morning show dedicated to Football, but being such an English program I’m surprised that they have named it “Soccer AM”!!!

    Anyhow, back to MMA… lol

  • DR.DOOM says:

    FR702

Are you referring to the k-1 sensation who retired – genki sudo ? Or a play on words for sengoku ? i enjoy the Dream cards alot . lets hope they dont fold anytime soon …… they should play these shows on regular TV . even though I have a state of the art $$$$ TV and HD box , most average mma fans dont and cant see this stuff ..so they miss out . But what I really crave is a Gran Prix . stick the best lightweights in the world together and lets see who the best really is

MY PARTICIPANTS WOULD BE : BJ penn — tyson griffin — josh thomson — JZ calvan —eddie alvarez — nick diaz — t gomi — ishida

and before anyone says ” they cant ” –offer the guys 100,000 for entering with a chance at 2 million dollars US for the champion

Bet you they all say yes … even BJ wouldnt turn down a chance at 2 million ….the revenue from this kind of event would be historic…

  • FR702 says:

That event would be phenominal great idea Doom…

Genki “Neo~Samurai” Sudo is who I’m refering to he hinted to the fact that he perhaps will come out of retirement on the NYE card… Ofcourse the Japanese are known for stating that certain people will fight then days before they aren’t on the “official card”, but he has stated himself in a few interviews that he could come back.. That is awesome imo he is entertaining and quite talented but time will tell!!
