I love the UFC and think Dana White is a genious I just don’t agree with how he rips the ProElite owners. He should show a little more class he won there is nothing else to gain. But other than that keep giving us great fights Dana.

Given the fact that EliteXC and the others he mentioned were on a mission to destroy what very few have built and are trying to maintain…I think he has every right to talk all the **** he wants. Dana is the very out spoken voice for those few.
Given all that they have done and especially trying to legitmize the sport…who cares about class!!! Once again I say, the business is fighting and it’s not made up of “elite” citizens. It’s people doing what they love, just like any other sport.
Someone has to say it, everyone is thinking it!!! Who better than Dana???

yeah he did say Silva, but you try flying from the UK to the Chicago, working out, running a multi-million dollar company and keeping the names of the hundreds of fighters in your organization straight late at night when you’re ready to go to bed. Not a big deal IMO, I doubt I could handle all he handles and keep everyone’s name right all the time.
I just love how he doesn’t even try to keep Baby Shaw’s name straight. He’s just “that little rapper guy.” Go DJ and live in your parents basement….hahahahaha.

Being Jared “little rapper” Shaw sucks! I changed my name to his, swore at you guys and realized I am unemployed at the moment. I have not been this happy about anything MMA related since…..Elite went out of business.

The M1 guys are just greedy and annoying but the Shaw’s Fatboy and little ****er are the worse and they tore down a organization and the repercussions on the smaller orgs that they owned outrigt or part of are tremendous all because of the worse family in MMA the Shaw’s F THE SAHW’S

does anyone else think that all theese people that Dana is talking smack on are going to retaliate physically? i am a UFC fan from the beginning and till the end… but Kimbo is a (getto ass)street fighter/body guard for porn guys WTF? Dana saying kimbo sucks all over the place and all this now!
i think that kimbo knows his place in the big scheme of things. he will get offered some fight in some small town shows and slowly disappear. dana, as usual, is right on with his comments! the only org that has the ability to put on a QUALITY show on prime time network tv is the ufc. cbs made a HUGE mistake in signing elitexc to their network. it set the uneducated publics perception back YEARS! we dont need fireworks, dancing girls(skanks) or live music acts. we need good, top level fights with good production focused on the martial arts. all the rest is just window dressing… sorry, i need to go outside and cool down! ha-ha
dana is a ****ing legend i like the guy more and more each time he does one of these, i bet hes a good laugh to have a beer with plus hes loaded so he will pay haha
I think the guy survives on almost no sleep at all, he’s got real committment to the UFC and the sport in general.
I’ll say it again… I am tired of Dana White butt kissers!! I am no fan of SHAW’s either, but Dana should close his mouth and treat people (namely the fighters) with respect!
Dana White is a greedy corporate wolf in a regular joe’s clothing. He pretends to be the common man by swearing and talking like a tough guy! We should not buy all of his B.S.!
The point is he doesn’t care that much for most of the fighters (who are human beings) and he treats many of them like pieces of meat. Dana wants to be the only MMA show out there, so he can call all of the shots. Dana wants to be the NBA or NFL of MMA.
On one side of his mouth, you hear Dana White (and Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg for that matter) talking about MMA and the spirit of Martial Arts and the class of the Artists etc, and on the other side you hear the filth that comes out of Dana White’s mouth! I understand that Dana is trying to appeal to some of the “Joe Six-packs” who relate to this. In the meantime, Dana believes his own B.S. and he acts like he’s some infallible, holier-than-thou jerk.
If Dana does wants the UFC to be like the NBA of MMA and if he did care about all of the fighters, then he would at least provide his fighters with year round health benefits. There are many other things that he would do for fighters (i.e. respect all fighters in the UFC and all fighters OUTSIDE of the UFC) if he cared about them. That’s one of the reasons why so many people have a problem with Dana.
Jimmy hey feel free to dislike the guy forsure, i hope in return you are willing to give credit to ZUFFA & UFC for what they have done for MMA domesticlly…. the reason why ProElite was able to attempt what the intially tried was due to the efforts of ZUFFA…. bash Dana all you want
I’ll say it a first time, I’m tired of the Dana White bashers!! All this talk about “Dana doesn’t pay the fighters enough.” “The fighters need health care.” If it wasn’t for Dana White and Zuffa, these guys wouldn’t be getting half what they’re getting right now, at least not fighting in this country. When MMA was a dying sport (in the US) they believed in it, and put in the money and the work to get it (re)legalized, “legitimized”, and laid the ground work to bringing it to the mainstream. If none of those things happened, neither the Shaws nor T-Shirt guy would have been interested in MMA. As a matter of fact, T-Shirt guy probably made half his money off of Dana, and the UFC fighters wearing his shirts on TUF. I honestly remember thinking at one point that Zuffa must own Affliction because Dana was wearing their stuff all the time, as were all the fighters. I forgot which season it was, but Affliction was everywhere. If it wasn’t for that, T-Shirt guy would have had half the money that he used to start his organization. So, T-Shirt guy can think Dana for at least half of the money that he has from selling T-Shirts, and the fact that Dana and Zuffa spent the money and time to make MMA what it is today.
Do I think competition is bad? No. Am I glad that the UFC has competition? Yes. Am I glad that the competition that has gotten the most interest has been T-Shirt guy and the Shaws? Not at all. Do I think that the UFC still has some growing to do, and that there are improvements that will need to be made? Absolutely. But lets think about this, the NFL got its original beginnings over 100 years ago. Are the players treated better today than they were then? absolutely. Are they treated better today than they were 10 years ago? absolutely. The last “legitimate” competitor to the NFL was over 20 years ago.(XFL was a joke) MMA is only 15 years old, and its current form is around a decade old, it will take time for the athletes in the UFC to get paid on the level of athletes in other sports, but it will come. You can’t bankrupt the organization trying to pay the fighters “what they deserve” (cough Affliction cough ProElite cough) and really do any benefit to them in the long run. If you do that, then where do they fight? Do they just bounce around from failing organization to failing organization until the sport dies?
Just think before you go itching and moaning about how terrible of a person Dana White is, and how terrible Zuffa is because they “don’t pay their fighters enough.”

I agree with some of your points above. Of course Dana has worked hard and he has helped the sport grow and prosper. Dana is now a rich man and he deserves to be rich.
However, you guys are missing my point.
1)There is no need for you to kiss Dana’s butt. He is arrogant enough already!
2)It does not take too much money for a large company like the UFC to provide things like health care to their fighters (especially those fighters who desperatly need it). It would be a very SMALL expense for a rich company like the UFC. In fact it is the UFC’s own interest!
3)Dana White is ignorant with regards to treatment of many fighters (who actually do the fighting). Dana SIMPLY does not have respect for many of the fighters and he treats many of them like a piece of meat. Most UFC fighters must kiss Dana’s butt if they want to go far in the UFC. Dana often insults other fighters who disagree with him and he often insults fighters who are NOT in the UFC. Dana even shows total contempt to many prospective mma fighters as well.
I like it when Justin rants. He makes me laugh.
@Jimmy…All I can think is that Dana acts like a regular guy. He’s a businessman that’s knows how to market and legitimize mma. As opposed to the jack offs at Elite XC or as I like to call it the wwexc. Those are the suits that say one thing and do another. They are the crooks and the ones that take advantage of the fighters. Dana seems to take care of the fighters that take pride in fighing in the UFC…His freakin company.
Jimmy, I think you need to re-evaluate your position. Especially in this crowd. Otherwise you’ll be forced to be entertained by a musing from Justin again…which most would enjoy reading over other stuff and things…I lost my thought…died of loneliness…oh well

2. Where do you get your information? Have you fought for Dana? Do you personally know someone that does? What’s the source? Maybe if I knew that I would be able to understand your position better.
I’m simply just opinionated and have no first hand knowledge.

1) No one here is kissing anyone’s butt.
2) I’ve not tried to look, but I’m not sure how many insurance companies would insure professional fighters. Also, as far as I can tell, UFC fighters are contract employees, so they probably get a 1099, not a W2 at the end of the year. I’m not sure how many people that work under that type of arrangement get health care from the employer, I know I didn’t when I worked in that type of arrangement. Maybe someone else on here can give their knowledge on this.
3)Most people that want to get further in their respective company tend to suck up/kiss butt at least a little. I think Dana does respect the fighters in his organization, and the one’s that don’t bad mouth him or his organization. Also, that “contempt” you think he shows for prospective fighters could just be his bluntness in saying “I don’t think this guy is really that good.” Which is no different from people on here challenging the people that have anointed Bisping as the Silva Slayer by saying he still hasn’t shown that he’s that good.
