Its good to see Dana taking part in building up the sport, especially in England, i’m sure there are much more talented guys there than up to now.
Looked like some powerful strikers in the making.
as much as people rag on Dana, the guy definitely busts his ass to try and develop the sport. He may be a jerk but he tries to help grow the sport. It’s just the fact that he’s a ruthless businessman on top of it all…
Yeah Dana’s a cool guy. I understand people’s complaints about him being rough but that’s exactly what you’d want the face of the UFC to be, no? Would you rather some soul-less corporate suit be running the company? Which do you the fans would sooner relate to?
Favorite Dana quote: “This isn’t survior you don’t vote people off, you beat them off. Woh that sounded bad!”
i think dana should enjoy elites fall but should let the ufc stand alone and let the fight fixing no future having small frys die on their own. Its no question that kimbo would never make it in the ufc but if dana wouldn’t have even spoke his name everyone would have let the facts speak for itself. All he did was bring more light to someone undeserving of the main stage. I think affliction will fall soon too fador can only bring in so much hype with no real match to defend his belt.
To those people who are Dana White butt kissers; please stop! Dana trys too hard to portray himself as an every day common joe (with all of his cursing and tough guy talk). You shouldn’t buy it like a sucker! He is not far from a “soulless corporate suit’ in disguise. Dana wants the UFC to be the only mma league out there, so he can make all of the rules and he can call all of the shots.
There are many things that Dana should have done a long time ago, for his fighters. For example, if he really cared for the well being of people (i.e. all of his fighters), then he would have made sure that the UFC provided year round medical insurance for all UFC fighters, a long time ago. This would be relatively inexpensive for him and for the UFC.
I wonder how readily available medical insurance is for a professional fighter…The guys are likely better off setting up themselves as an LLC (this is what Actors do) then the LLC gets paid for the fight and endorsements, then the LLC pays all their medical bills, training expenses, etc. etc., and then the LLC pays them a pay check, and pays that jerk F.I.C.A., then they write off all of those things as business expenses on their tax forms, and pay less taxes, then take quarterly dividends and only pay capital gains on that. Plus, that way (for example) Forrest Griffin, LLC. buys his insurance, and writes it off, instead of Dana paying it and getting the tax write off.
FR,
I bet a lot of them probably do (Randy, Chuck….the big name guys), its just a matter of knowing that they can do it, and knowing someone to handle all that stuff for them.
Believe me I am NO fan of SHAW either! SHAW is much worse than Dana in my opinion.
Justin, let’s be serious, your idea works for wealthy actors and for the Forrest Griffin’s of the world, but what about a fighter who is not established or a fighter who struggles to pay all of his basic bills???
I’m a businessman and I obviously like capitalism too. However, good companys last longer when the owner(s) look out for the best interests of their partners and their employees. It’s a win/win because thoughtful and ethical owners are, in effect, also enhancing their companies in the long run. This is often a prerequisite to becoming a great, everlasting organization that does not fade away. Dana white and others are lacking in this area…
Face it, Dana White is a greedy corporate wolf in a regular joe’s clothing. He pretends to be the common man by swearing and talking like a tough guy! We should not buy all of his B.S.!
The point is he doesn’t care that much for most of the fighters (who are human beings) and he treats many of them like pieces of meat. Dana wants to be the only MMA show out there, so he can call all of the shots. Dana wants to be the NBA or NFL of MMA.
On one side of his mouth, you hear Dana White (and Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg for that matter) talking about MMA and the spirit of Martial Arts and the class of the Artists etc, and on the other side you hear the filth that comes out of Dana White’s mouth! I understand that Dana is trying to appeal to some of the “Joe Six-packs” who relate to this. In the meantime, Dana believes his own B.S. and he acts like he’s some infallible, holier-than-thou jerk.
If Dana does want to be the NBA of MMA and if he did care about all of the fighters, then he would at least provide his fighters with year round health benefits. There are many other things that he would do for the fighters if he cared about them and that’s one of the reasons why so many people have a problem with Dana.
I hope Dana puts out a video Blog or something about Elite going out of business.
Justin, u damn well Dana is not going to miss an oppritunity to make the Shaw’s look like the F~ing morons they are, no way he stays quiet.

You gotta love Dana.

Ruthless businessman, that loves MMA, my kinda guy.
I rather enjoyed that….
It’s 175 guys, but when he was doing an interview he said that there were over 200 guys!
Liar, Liar. LOL
dana is the man, i hope he does do something about elite going bust cos it will be funny as fuk to watch

YZFOXRACING = Dana White
Judging by Justin’s rapid response…
Justin = Dana White’s Lawyer.
Believe me I am NO fan of SHAW either! SHAW is much worse than Dana in my opinion.
