Manny Gamburyan vs. Thiago Tavares Likely For UFC 94
Lightweights Manny Gamburyan and Thiago Tavares are likely to square off at UFC 94 on January 31st in Las Vegas, according to MMA Weekly.
Official agreements for the fight have not yet been signed, but Gamburyan has confirmed that he has verbally agreed to the 155-pound matchup.
UFC 94 features a marquee welterweight title rematch between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and UFC lightweight BJ Penn.
After losing to Nate Diaz due to an injury in the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 5, Gamburyan posted back-to-back victories over Nate Mohr and Jeff Cox, but was dealt his second UFC loss in his most recent bout at UFC 87 in August, losing to Rob Emerson via 12-second knockout.
Tavares compiled an undefeated 10-0 record, including a 2-0 mark in the UFC, before losing his first career bout to Tyson Griffin at UFC 76 last September. He’s since gone just 1-2, earning a win over Michihiro Omigawa at UFC Fight Night 12 in January while dropping his two most recent bouts to Matt Wiman and Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 85 in June and UFC 88 in September.

Rumor going around that for UFC 100 it will be on July 4th with all the belts up for grabs.. but Dana specifically said they don’t have any plans… so lets hype it up and get it to happen folks!

All titles on the line would be an awesome event, They would probably be praying for a couple champs to come out unharmed, otherwise what would they do for the next few ppvs? lol
at ufc 100 itll b anderson silva vs gsp at 185 and randy vs big nogs and urijah faber comes up to 155 to fight bj add in rashad vs rampage/wandy and u got 4 outta 5 titles on the line and to fill out the main card i say fedor makes his ufc debut against lesner only cuz lesner was sayin **** fedor and all that jazz on the press confrence. that is my dream card dana make it happen
both are coming off losses, but manny is coming off an embarassing loss. no way he deserves someone of thavares’s caliber.

as far as UFC 100, the entire card should be sold @ a ppv price of $50, for the fans ya know, i know it wont happen at all but hey whatever
Every title should be on the line (but then that ties up titles for months and months and people will start complaining how champions dont defend enough blah blah) i want the best card ever perhaps have Fedor on it after Affliction goes under…. we shall see what they give us it has to be great tho…. us fans want nothing less then to watch great MMA
Tavares is too much for Manny, and those stubby arms wont get him close enough to grapple. Its nice to see a cocky guy humbled by a KO, we’ll see how Manny handles himself, i never liked him or expected him to go far, he’s an ankle grabber. I think Tavares will be back in prime form, the guys got great skills but is battling lack of confidence after a few losses.
