Leben did look bigger than Bisping. But consider that Leben is used to cutting weight, he’s done it as a wrestler and his whole MMA career. This is only Bispings third weight cut (in the UFC). Previously he was trying to gain weight to get up to 205, he’ll probably find a better balance and become a little bit bigger middleweight as he gets more time in the weight class and more weight cuts under his belt.

wasn’t saying he didn’t take any physical damage I’m talking about how he did not look like Wandi and Liddell did when they stood up for round 3 and both looked like their legs were made from rubber. Bisping landed clean most of the fight but Leben has granite for a chin.

FYI last I saw the Hendo-Franklin bout will be at Light Heavyweight… I have a feeling we will see Nate Marquardt, Thales Leites, or Martin Kampmann in Bisping’s not too distant future.

I think people will take notice if he beats a top MW ie Hendo or Franklin and he will have that oppritunity in 2009 after TUF 9 UK v USA (why is it when the US goes up against another country or whatever it always like The World Team v USA ie golf, sorry just random thought process)
As far as Leben’s eye well a jab could have done who knows.. Perhaps when I watch it again later tonight I shall pinpoint it..

Bisbing needs to do a lot of work imo if he is going to try and get by Hendo or Franklin…

i dont think any1 could can handle silva, and a agree scar tissue can split easy but im taling about the eye almost being shut, i was pritty shocked leban dint go down last nite, bisping did land a few straight rights to the chin, i dont think people are guna take much notice of bisping until he gets a highlight reel knockout, but haveing said that ide take decision wins over a loss for mike anyday, cos i no im guna get ribed to hell when he loses or should i say if he loses lol ;}

Scar~tissue my friend splits easily perhaps that is partly to blame for the “damage” that Leben was displaying
Now before u go and state that I’m making excuses believe u me I’m not just putting it out there, I’m still not swayed one way or another about Bisbing but I did like that he admitted that he can’t handle a piece of Anderson Silva

Hey impartial, I am from Atlanta…and I saw it being a 29-28 fight for bisping. Just because leben was not severely damaged does not mean anything. These are not the old Pride scoring rules. Bisping was more accurate with his strikes where as Leben got away from his gameplan seemingly the minute he started bleeding. Like I said in an earlier post the only way Bisping would have lost was if he made the same mistakes both Martin and Sakara made. While there were chances that it LOOKED like Leben was hurt Bisping played it safe and continued to use that crisp jab and straight right he had working all fight. I still believe Leben likes to use the old Ali fake to set up a KO but Bisping did not fall for it. The thing is when a decision is made it’s on the percentage of strikes landed first and not the amount of damage. Besides we all know if Leben is not exactly the easiest guy to KO unless your name is Anderson.

Also how can people say Bisping is overrated? He’s not fighting for the title, he’s working his way up and he’s won almost every fight he’s had. If it’s because he’s headlining cards in Britain get over it…he’s the most marketable star over there. If you’re holding a grudge over the Hamil fight…get over it. That fight was reason #1 you do not allow the fight to go the scorecards. You never know what will happen when it goes there.I would’ve liked a rematch but Hamil got hurt soon after and Bisping dropped to Middleweight(where he looks much cleaner as a striker). Also am I the only one who thought Leben looked ALOT bigger than Bisping?

Guaranteed the bisping fans are from the UK. If the fight goes to the judges in the uk, bisping will win. Just like the Hammill fight. Leben didn’t get picked apart, and bisping didn’t destroy Leben, he couldnt even hurt him at all. Leben let him hit his face and kick his head at the end to taunt him. Looked pretty damn close and should have been split at best.
