Steve Cantwell vs. Razak Al-Hussan Likely For UFC Fight Night 16
UFC newcomer Razak Al-Hussan (5-0) is likely to meet Steve Cantwell (6-1) at UFC Fight Night 16 on December 10th in North Carolina, according to MMA Junkie.
Cantwell was originally booked to rematch Marine veteran and former WEC champion Brian Stann at the “UFC Fight for the Troops” event, but Stann was recently forced to withdraw from the bout due to a broken foot. Now, it appears Cantwell may remain on the card after all to battle the undefeated newcomer Al-Hussan at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville.
After losing his first encounter with Stann in just 41-seconds, Cantwell has strung together three-straight wins, including winning the WEC 205-pound championship with a second-round TKO of Stann in their most recent meeting in August.
Hussan, who has been fighting professionally for less than two years, has won all five of his professional bouts dating back to February 2007. He was last in action in September, defeating Andrew Force via submission just 45-seconds into their bout at Extreme Challenge 107.

Any word on the state of that WEC Champioonship with the merger into the UFC?
The middleweight and light heavyweight WEC titles are just being eliminated and the fighters are coming to the UFC and, champion or not, have to work their way to a title shot just like everyone else.
I like it. Bummer for Cantwell but, glad to see he’s taking advantage of the opportunity with the UFC. Good news.
That was probably a good decision, as the competition in the WEC was clearly not on the same level as the UFC. In addition to the fact that Filho and Silva refuse to fight each other.

Then you do that to Shogun and Wanderlei, Fitch and Kos, the guys that train with Greg Jackson, next thing you know you don’t have anymore fighters. Besides they’re trying to name Silva the best P4P guy, and kinda going back and forth with Affliction and Fedor, they’re not going to try to knock him down a notch.

Guys, I meant if Filho gets to the point where he is the next logical contender, not immediately. Say Filho gets to 5-0 or 6-0 in the UFC. Is he not the #1 contender? Match em up. Don’t make it a case of “He’s my butt-buddy and I won’t touch him.” Someone pulls that, he’s KJ Noons-ing himself, but worse because it shows he lacks the strength to really fight under adversity.

On Thursday at a press conference at Trump Tower in New York City, Affliction Entertainment announced a partnership with M-1 Global to produce “Fighting Fedor,” a new reality show featuring famed heavyweight Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko.
Trump Enterprises, led by business mogul and Affliction executive Donald Trump, is also supporting the program.
“Fighting Fedor” will feature 16 heavyweight fighters competing in a tournament format. The talent, culled from around the world, will arrive at the Red Devil camp in St. Peterburg, Russia, for the competition until one winner emerges.
Fedor is great but I bet this show will suck….I just have a bad feeling about it. I do hope it is good…..we’ll see

BTW, thanks for pointing me towards youtube…I can’t stop watching. Those lil people don’t play around. The great thing is their arms and legs are to short for a ground game so it’s stand up or ground and pound. Man is it fun..ny to watch.

I agree that Silva vs Silva fight would be interesting. I also agree with KOuch that Silva would probably easily dispatch Filho. We’ll see how Filho does against the lesser UFC middleweights, if he can’t beat them, he wouldn’t have a chance against Silva.
Yup Filho will be a knock out waiting to happen if stands with Silva on the ground it could be a different story but i’m not so sure.
I watched the Sonnen fight again the other day Filho did not impress me in fact i think Sonnen will end his 0 next month.

I just watched a youtube video of 2 Thai midgets in a muay thai fight. The littler one kept running around and giving cheap kicks while the little larger one was down.
The ending? A glove came off and a KO punch.
