Night of Combat 2 Reports Low Live Gate

Night of Combat 2, which took place on Saturday at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, had a total live gate of just $32,405, according to figures reported to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, despite low ticket prices.
Despite low ticket prices, the event, which was promoted by Superfights MMA and Kim Couture’s KC Concepts, sold 1,063 tickets with another 672 given away, but 7,176 tickets remained unsold.
The disclosed fighter payroll for Night of Combat 2 was $160,500. Winners Hector Ramirez, Jay Hieron, and Mike Pyle each earned event-high salaries of $20,000 for their efforts.

So…..the event was not a success I take it…..that sucks. Too bad.
Yeah, it probably wasn’t a financial success. It is going to be on HDNet, which they obviously will earn something from, but even with that its unlikely they’ll cover the fight payouts, let alone all the administrative costs.
Wow, that sucks, they had a lot of known fighters on that card too. I bet if they did that somewhere other than Vegas they would have done better.
Obviously somethings not right with the preparation. Advertising? Over-priced tickets? Doesn’t make sense.
Part of my thinking is that there are so many shows in Vegas, with the big name fighters on the card UFC and other major promotions that maybe some of the people in Vegas are spoiled. I also have to think that Advertising was probably not great, and maybe the timing of the event was poor as well.
Going by them numbers the average ticket price would have been 30.00.I would have went if i didn’t live across the country.

I had a ringside seat at this event and I can confirm that the stadium was nearly empty. I don’t understand why, however, as it was a bargain at only about $60 for ringside seats! I was sitting right in front of Karo Parisyan who I had the pleasure of listening to as he ranted on about how much he hated Steve Mazzagati. LOL.
