Stephan Bonnar vs. Jon Jones Expected For UFC 94
Light heavyweights Stephan Bonnar (12-4) and Jon Jones (6-0) will clash at UFC 94 on January 31st in Las Vegas, according to Five Ounces of Pain.
Bonnar returns to the octagon for the first time in over a year, after a knee injury knocked him out of an April bout with Matt Hamill and required surgery which kept him out of action for all of 2008. Prior to the injury Bonnar rebounded from back-to-back losses to Rashad Evans and Forrest Griffin to win two-straight bouts over Mike Nickels and Eric Schafer.
A high school and junior college wrestling champion, Jones is one of the youngest fighters on the UFC roster at just 21-years-old. Despite already having compiled an undefeated 6-0 professional record, including a decision win over Andre Gusmao in his UFC debut at UFC 87 in August, Jones has been fighting professionally for just six-months.
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn clash for the 170-pound title in the main event of UFC 94, which will air live on pay-per-view.

Nice to see Bonnar back. Hope he wins. Anyone know more about Jones back ground by any chance? Anything?
Glad to see Bonnar back, this will probably be on the undercard, he’s got a lot of work to do to get back on the main cards, hopefully he can get it done though.
Jones is a great striker and reminds of rumble johnson long lean and a hell of a prospect.
I hope Bonner does well. I like that guy. Shame he didnt get the same success as Griffin
hey man bonnar has fought some tough guys. Forrest is the champ and he gave him two hard fought battles
Bonnar also messed himself over by using ‘roids. He hasn’t been on a main card since.
Stephan “The American Physco” Bonnar, first underrated nickname, I do agree Justin since he got caught doing roids (and he had one of his best performances while juicing that doesn’t help) he hasn’t been looked at the same by fans and the UFC alike… I hope he comes out and does well also I don’t think he has too many fights left on his contract soo he has to have a strong showing and win imo
i dont like bonner that much, dont ask me why because i couldn’t give u an answer, i just dont like the guy an hope he gets beat, plus i like this guy jones as hes got the same name as me lol
@JOHNBOY, for me it’s the doping issue. Really tainted my interest in him. I don’t hate him but I am disinterested for sure.
In Bonnar’s defense, he (claims) he wasn’t doping to gain an advantage, but rather to get healed faster. At least he is now man enough to admit that he did it, it was wrong, and it won’t happen again.
The rules are clear.
I know, and I’m not saying that its okay, I’m just giving a reason to give the guy a second chance, because people do make mistakes.
I like Bonnar….hope he makes a good comeback!
Bonnar is gonna put the beatdown on! The dude’s beat jardine and gave forrest 2 good runs.
Stephan does need this win, he has been gone for a pretty long time i dont know if he is going to have “ring rust” or not but Bonnar is tough as nails, and he is facing a guy that i guess likes to finish fights….. 4(t)ko, 1 sub (guillotine),1 decision soo hopefully Bonnar comes for a fight and looks impressive
I always liked bonnar’s fighting style. Great stand up and a sub wizard, can take a punch as well. Hope to see him get back in the mix, cause I would love to see him fight so many of the guys in this stacked division.
same look as C.B Dollaway…… Pu-Pu face like he smells siht! i don’t like the way he talks. And i heard he was gay! but i still like watching him fight… i just remember his first fight with Forrest!
BAD ASS!
stephan bonnar is a mad man and has one of the most underated jujits game in mma , as well as being one of the most underrated 205ers. his last 2 fights he beat 2 solid men and did it with some style. j. jones has never fought a guy as technicley sound as bonnar and lacks that “top knotch” experience. the american phsyco will dominate and win by unanimous decision……….or maybe submission.
well howd that go by the way? quite the opposite actually. i grew up wrestling around jon jones (not against as im much lighter) and he has a great career ahead of him in mma. all around great guy and one of the nicest people youd ever meet. i wish him the best of luck
