Drew McFedries Tapped To Fight Thales Leites at UFC 90
Drew McFedries has agreed to replace Goran Reljic and fight middleweight contender Thales Leites on short notice at UFC 90 on October 25th in Chicago, Illinois.
Sources confirmed the replacement with MMAFrenzy.com earlier today.
Reljic was forced to withdraw from the bout yesterday after suffering a back injury.
McFedries, a member of Miletich Fighting Systems, is an even 3-3 inside the octagon with wins over Alessio Sakara, Jordan Radev, and Marvin Eastman and losses to Martin Kampmann, Patrick Cote, and ,most recently in September at UFC Fight Night 15, Mike Massenzio.
After dropping his UFC debut to Martin Kampmann in late-2006, Leites has won four-straights fights, including a controversial split decision win over Nate Marquardt in June that saw Marquardt dominate the bout but lose two points, and ultimately the decision, due to illegal strikes.

Drew needs a win real bad I do hope he does get it in this fight
i want drew to win as i cant stand leites, his last fight was bull ****, he needs a good win to get me back on his side
No, “Good call FixXeR”, or anything?? haha.
Drew definetely needs it. I think it may be good even though it’s bit short notice. I’d like to see this be his turn around fight.
I also just don’t like saying Thales Leites
Yes FixXer definately a good call cheers to you
I still think Leites is going to win. In a way I prefer Drew but overall……ehhh….let me see blood.
If it makes it past the first you’ll see blood
