Dana is my hero. The football analogy was right on.
first it sounds like he is being a hater but then he made a valid point. he should have added how they are making all MMA look bad to some fans: first calling themselves a MMA promotion they by promoting Kimbo Slice then by trying to fix fights.
Dana is GREAT! If he told me kick Jared Shaw in the testes I would…. All I would have to do is see him, approach him, kick and then things would get interesting. I am so f-ing happy Dana got that rant posted. I sit here talking **** about the Shaw’s all the time and how they do not care about MMA. The Shaw’s are clueless to what real MMA is all about. It is nice to know the GOD of MMA(Dana) feels the same as I do.

Yes, he is correct. Shaw et al. should be fried for engaging in behavior to attempt to alter the outcome of the fight.
But, once again, Dana is proving that he isn’t exactly the classiest representative of the sport himself. What happens if MMA becomes even more popular and starts regularly being covered by major news outlets and publications? Are we gonna see Dana on CNN dropping f-bombs and taking sides?

Dana made MMA what it is today. He took a business that was next to non existant, turned it into a billion dollar company and the fastest growing sport in America. Dana can do what he wants. Just like the 15 yr old girls who have had sex with 30+ men on Maury Povich. I do what I want. Don’t hate.

Dana was spot on! That aside. Anyone esle wish that Dana would not swear as much if not at all? It really does sound silly to hear a top guy such as himself to be saying f u c k every few words!

I do think it would make him more professional, and possibly make the UFC a little more appealing to people who are concerned about its “family friendliness” (granted there’s only so family friendly MMA can get), but he is an adult so he can choose to do what he wants.
I think the Florida Athletic Commission has already cleared EliteXC, but if it is at all true, fines need to be levied.
I think dana has been waitin along time to go off on shaw and elite and this was his chance. i wasnt dissapointed.

I agree, he is an adult and can do as he pleases, but Swearing is so unprofessional. You cant deny that. When I watch TUF, I hate hearing him speak as it seems so 2nd class. It sounds tacky and cheap and makes himself seem stupid. But new-comers to the sport will tarnish the UFC with the same brush that they tarnish White with.
I wonder how CBS feels about doing business with Elite now? Now is probably a good time for CBS to call the UFC and offer to lick Dana’s balls for help.
REGARDING DANA’S LANGUAGE:
Everyone is going to have an opinion about Dana’s vulgarity. Personally, I love it. The “F” word is one of my favorites. Everytime someone uses it I feel laughter, happiness, anger, pleasant inside, delighted, peace, serenity, violence and frustration all at once. What a great F’ing word the “F” word is indeed…. to me. Those of you who think less of Dana for his mouth probably lead a more straight and narrow path in life minus the millions of dollars Dana now has. Whether it is religious beliefes or your social surroundings, you are NOT hip and cool like Dana. YES! YES Dana’a vulgairty makes him hip and cool. Just like Joe Pesci in the movie Casino.
Example: Joe Pesci needs info from an Irish guy so he sticks his head in a vice and says, “F you! You mother F-er! F my mother?!? You c–k sucker! You mother f-er.” See….TOTALLY F-ING COOL. HIP TOO.
Honestly, at this point we are all familiar with Dana’s entertaining vocabulary. He is not going to change. One thing that cannot be taken away is that Dana has persoality and character. Not many people do have chracter and personality like Dana. Those of you who are critical of his personality come across too sensitive and dull to me. I would much rather conversate, drink beer and watch sports with someone like Dana. A guys guy. A mans man. Leave the greatness that is Dana’s vocabulary and chracter alone. Leave the ****ing to code pink.
I like Dana’s cursing. It’s his own special brand of eloquence. Dropping the f-bomb now and then shows that he’s still a regular guy. Even though he’s millions of dollars richer than me he doesn’t act like a stuck up prick.

I agree with you, I was just making the point that whether we like it or not he’s going to talk however he talks, and that’s his choice, and he’s the one that has to do with any consequences that may or may not arise from that.

A good part of why I’m not a fan of the language does have to do with my beliefs. At the same time, however, it has always seemed unprofessional to me, even when I was someone that used that kind of language regularly. Dana may be hip and cool, but I don’t think he’s vulgarity neither adds nor detracts from that coolnees, it is what it is, and stands alone. However you feel about it up to you, and I’m not gonna judge, like Dana you are your own person and can make your own decisions. One of the reasons I have with his language, that I’ve tried to express before, is that it could alienate some people that would otherwise enjoy the sport. I have friends that share my beliefs but for whatever reason aren’t as open MMA because of those beliefs, and Dana’s language isn’t going to do anything to help my cause of getting them to not denigrate the sport as not being a sport, and/or not being something that is “okay” for people that share my beliefs to enjoy watching/participating in.

Agreed. Dana is just f-ing cool. I am going to write Dana a letter and just let him know how f-ing cool he is. I wish I were as cool as Dana but……I’m just not. I swear as much or more but…..no coolness here.
Too bad for Elitexc, they put on exciting fights, but i always knew they were shady. So f*ck em, they f*cked the fans, they f*cked the fighters, they didn’t f*ck the bookies which they should get f*cked in thier f*cking asses by a big f*cking skinhead and/or black guy in prison.
And for Dana’s language, who cares it was on YouTube not CNN. I bet David Stern of the NBA or the NFL commisioner doesn’t have a pretty mouth either, but they know when to clean it up for actual news conferences. Dana’s a smart guy and wouldn’t use that language unless Wolf Blitzer called him a p*ssy or something. I’ve ragged on Dana in the past, but this past year i’m a “Born Again” Dana fan. Just keep up with the good fights in the UFC.
BTW, don’t take me wrong, I like Dana, I think he’s great for the UFC and great for the sport. And in general I like the way he does business, also the language doesn’t make me cringe or not want to listen to him talk, the only problems I have the language have been previously stated.

come on people, it’s not like its cnn. dana is a smart businessman and rest assured that as the sport grows and continues to get more media coverage around the globe, dana will do less dropping of the F-bomb in the more serious interviews. besides, coaches AND players do it on espn interviews a lot when they’re real ticked off.

Same goes for this whole “Golden Boy” promotion sh*t going on with Affliction – wanting to combine MMA and boxing events on one card for the night. What?!?!?! Who does that help?? Boxing is my guess, as there are VERY few true MMA and boxing fans; your usually one or the other, and boxing is the sinking ship.
The boxing promoters are scum – Gary Shaw, Bob Arum, Don King, etc, etc.

I’ve never heard Dana cuss on live TV (not including PPVs). I don’t remember hearing him curse in the finales, fight nights, or on any live interviews. KOuch is generally ok, in this situation I don’t agree with him, and certain things he has said have gone too far. Certain things you have said have gone too far. I could be wrong, but as far as I know, KOuch has been more active on this site than you have, and likely has more friends on here than you have, so back off on him and the personal attacks. Also, FR702 is generally a voice of reason, so don’t jump on him.

This UK vs US crap is BS and we can argue back and forth about whose country is better/worse blah blah, who saved who’s butt whatever, in the end it doesn’t really matter. If tomorrow the UK needed the US help we would be there, likewise the UK for the US. If you guys want to argue back and forth about whose country is better go somewhere else and do it, its not appropriate here and you’re detracting from the value of this website. Also, stop all the personal attacks, we’ve had trolls on here before that try to start this crap, now decent members of the MMA Frenzy community are getting into personal attacks, this is going cause people not to want to stick around here, and not feel like contributing. I’d rather people didn’t, but if you really want to do that here, go over the entry about TUF 9 being US v UK and pick a fight there about countries, not this article. Even in that situation I don’t understand what anyone gains from that argument, or what of value is brought to the table. US v. UK TUF will in the end come down to the individual fighters and really has little to do with US v. UK, and many people, on this site, have already criticized the idea as silly. I will personally be pulling for the US fighters, being from the US, but if someone that’s a US fighter but a total jerk like Junie this season is a against a British fighter that is a decent person, I’ll pull for the British fighter, and then hope another American will beat that guy later.
On a side note, I guess I’m more likely than some people to not have the hatred for the UK and feel all “US is better blah blah” than some other Americans though, being that my grandmother is British and I still have family that lives over there.
