Kimbo made the same as Arlovski are you kidding me? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but c’mon.
u put “his” for gina tu tu lol, so the total pay out was 1.3 mill and 2 people got half a mil each, thats bull shiit. look at the guys at the bottom they only got a grand each, with the credit crunch an all that, i bet there liveing on beans on toast haha
NO WONDER THESE GUYS LOOSE MONEY. WHAT KIND OF PAY SCALE IS THAT?
Not a single person at UFN 15 was paid less than 3k….
Atleast the good fighters on the card got paid, the UFC wouldn’t offer them that kinda money, the money some of these guys deserve.
Burn Xc to the ground and spread the ashes to the four corners…You try and give them(Kimbo INC) a little credit for doing one thing right and then you read the story about the Standing bonus…there is a great line from LA Confidential that sums it up…
“…you want to destroy it?”
“With a WRECKING BALL….”
This makes me sick…
Kimbo loses AND gets $500,000, wtf is that? Thats 35,700 and change PER SECOND for getting knocked out. I know that Kimbo is a big draw for them, but come on. Anyone else would be going through at least 10 fights (some fighters a lot more) in the smaller circuits before even being invited to fight higher level opponents. Let alone make 500 G’s in a main event on national tv in their 3rd fight.
Gina on the other hand only gets 25000 for an exciting 3 round win over a game opponent, again I ask, wtf? Isn’t she a big draw for them as well? Isn’t she at least part of the reason a lot of you guys watched the show in the first place? I know she is for me, I love watching her fight. She deserved to make imo at least 20% of what the guys in the main events took home, 100 G’s.
And Shields, one of their champions, only gets 50,000? I admit to not seeing Jake fight much before, but he is a champ and deserves a little more respect, and pay than that. Elite needs to be promoting their champions and top contenders first (like the UFC), guys who have proven themselves to be good fighters and to putting on good shows. Next you promote your younger/newer to the sport guys.
I understand Kimbo making some decent money, like Lesnar he draws viewers, and if they bring in more money they deserve to make a little more. But putting kimbo in the main event on tv in his 3rd fight is too much. I could see putting him in the second or third fight from the main event. They should have had their champ fight in the main event, even if a lot of newer fans don’t know him at least putting him in the main event would make people think he’s a good fighter and might want to watch him again.
Anyway, I think the payout should have been spread out a little more, Gina and Jake both deserved more money in my opinion. I can’t wait for Gina to take on the thing, ummmm, I mean guyborg, the scarey one that I wouldn’t fight if I had 3 of my friends with me and she was spitting on us.
While I don’t think that Kimbo, as a fighter, is a worth half a mil, Kimbo as a draw is close to being worth that. One thing that frustrates me any time people start complaining about how much these guys get paid is this: They agreed to it. They are adults and are capable of making their own financial decisions. They agreed to fight for whatever price they agreed to fight for. If that’s not enough, well that’s their fault. At least they’re getting paid something, there’s a lot of people fighting around the country for nothing more than love of it and on Monday morning they get up bright and early and go to their real job.
people are just jelous of the fact that kimbo took home half a mill for getting his arse kicked, (me included) ide take a beating for that hell ide take ten beating for that.
so Kimbo gets 500,000 and the promotions best fighter only makes 50,000…impressive… honestly it is the pay scale that bothers me about other promotions because while the good fighters make really good money the up and comers get table scraps…
In the interview, Petruzelli hinted at the fact that he may have been given a bonus or incentive to only stand and trade with Kimbo in the fight, and to not take the fight to the ground.
“The promoters kind of hinted to me, and they gave me the money to stand and trade with him. They didn’t want me to take him down, let’s just put it that way,” said Petruzelli while appearing on 104.1 FM.
MMAWeekly.com spoke to EliteXC vice president Jared Shaw on Monday night. He categorically denied the report that they paid him to keep the fight standing.
“Absolutely not,” Shaw answered to questions if the allegations were true. “Whether that was something Seth was taken out of context or Seth was trying to say something different, I don’t know. What I can tell you, I was in the locker room with Seth with the contract; that did not happen.
The Shaw family has shown such little honesty, integrity, MMA knowledge, MMA love and they come from the corrupt world of boxing. I feel Jared is a LIAR!
Jared is probably lying, but Seth has just increased the likelihood that he will never fight for Elite again. (above what he had already done by beating Kimbo)
Except for the two at $500k, those payouts are so small…hardly worth the brain damage (cumulative from training, not just fight night), time and effort of months of training, risk of coma, facial fracture and loss of vision.
These guys can make more money by being contestants on “Deal or No Deal”, “Jeopardy”, “Wheel of Fortune” etc with no risk of injury. Poor fools.
According to a show i saw Kimbo was refusing to take the fight until 30 minutes before it happened, and due to the leverage he had at that point an additional huge sum of money was paid to him to get into the cage. The owners of Elitexc are their own worst enemies, the organization would do better to put out the best fights possible and let the chips fall where they may.
Not that i blame kimbo, but it is a complete fuking joke that he made 450,000 more than shields.does this mean peruzelli’s gonna make 500,000 now lol.Well at least they took care of arlovski.
RJA,
Frank Mir does not now make 500k after beating Lesnar in UFC, so I doubt Petruzelli will be making 500k after beating Kimbo in Elite. Also, I think that Arlovski was paid by Affliction, as it was a co-promoted event…but I don’t know.
yeah Justin , Affiction did spring for that figyt as part of a compensation for AA and Buddy for the training tey did for the cancelled show . AA spent a ton of dough ontrainers and travel .
ALL THAT MONEY SPENT AND SOCIAL MENACE CLOTHING SPONSORED FIGHTER.. SETH PETRUZELLI COMES AND STEALS THE SHOW!! I LOVE IT!!
