Denis Kang To Fight Marvin Eastman at October Raw Combat Event
Middleweights Denis Kang (30-10-1) and Marvin Eastman (15-8-1) will square off on October 25th at Raw Combat in Calgary, Canada.
Kang, a PRIDE welterweight grand prix finalist, won twenty-two straight fights between 2003 and 2006 but has lost three of his last five fights. Following a loss to Kazuo Misaki via split decision in late-2006 Kang briefly rebounded to top Jung Gyu Choi in early-2007 but was defeated by Yoshihiro Akiyama via KO in late-2007 at a K-1 HERO’S event. He next entered DREAM’s inaugural middleweight tournament as an early-favorite but was defeated by eventual winner Gegard Mousasi via first-round submission in the opening round of the grand prix. In his most-recent bout, Kang defeated Kim Jae Young via first-round knockout to retain his Spirit MC title.
Though Eastman defeated eventual UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson in his MMA debut “The Beastman” has had mixed success since, losing to the likes of Rich Franklin, Vitor Belfort, Travis Lutter, and Jason Lambert. Following an early-2007 loss to Jackson Eastman dropped from light heavyweight to middleweight and claimed the IFO middleweight title and also scored unanimous decision victory over Terry Martin, but was defeated by Drew McFedries via first-round TKO in his latest bout in June.

i dont get it not at all…. no exposure, not great competiton….. its great for local fans but damn he shouldnt be fighting there let alone Eastman, the $$$$ cant be that great for him either its just a total mind F~ck

I agree. However, for a smaller promotion not a bad match. Lucky for those in attendance. I feel Eastman is not that great but he has that “UFC” background other promotions love using as a promo tool for their own events. Kang needs to step it up a notch though. Life won’t wait. I heard from a midget that Kang was offered a midget orgy to parttake in this event…..just a rumor but you never know.

Eastman DID beat Rampage in Marvins debut fight, not the fight that they had last year go check the facts

I will be at almost ANY MMA event at HP. I don’t care if I skip a family event, kill someone or lie/cheat/steal….j/k I really want to go and see no reason why I will not be there. If only Kris had MMAFRENZY shirts and hooded sweatshirts it would be much easier to spot you or me or any of us anywhere.
Speaking of MMAFrenzy shirts, I know people that run screen-printing shops, although its been a while since I talked to them. I also know people that do custom Embroidery.

Let’s not forget that Eastman beat Rampage back in the day of King of the Cage. He’s like Kevin Randleman & Babalu…it all depends on who shows up to fight.
I heard that the promoter for this event is also the owner of UniversalMMA in Vancouver.. a gym that Kang has share in as well. This might be how he got involved.(Dont quote me on this).
