Lance EvansSeveral castoffs from The Ultimate Fighter 8, including the brothers of two UFC stars, have found new homes after being released by the UFC:

  • Light heavyweight Lance Evans, the older brother of UFC 205-pound contender Rashad Evans, will be returning to TKO Championship Fighting where he previously competed and will take on Steve Bosse at TKO 35 in early-October. Evans was stopped by Vinicius Magalhaes via TKO in their opening round fight due to a rib injury.
  • Lightweight Joe Duarte has signed a six-fight deal with Colloseo Championship Fighting. He was defeated by Phillipe Nover via second-round rear naked choke in the opening round.
  • Light heavyweight Jason Guida, the older brother of UFC lightweight star Clay Guida who didn’t fight on TUF 8 after failing to make weight, has signed with EliteXC and will make his debut at the promotion’s October 10th ShoXC event against Mamed Khalidov, according to Five Ounces of Pain.
  • SPOILER: Light heavyweight Antwain Britt, who remains in the competition after defeating Ryan Jimmo via majority decision on the debut episode, will headline UWC: Confrontation against Rick Roufus on October 11th in Virginia.

MMAFrenzy.com will pass along more signings as they become available.

  • Mikew says:

Im curious about Lance Evans to see what he’s got, TKO is a gerat Canadian organization and has fed many good fighters up to the UFC.

  • Dr Doom says:

Wanna see guida’s brother fight . he was a drama queen on the UF8 . Hope he is televised getting beaten ……. alot

  • Mikew says:

Guida is a weird one and i imagine is a bit of an embarassment to his brother.

  • Ryan-S says:

clay is obviously the better of the two brothers. I got bad vibes from Jason, cocky and big-headed like ” i can do whatever my brother can2 yeah but guess what mate ??? you can’t even make weight you pathertic loser. Like Dana said, either make the weight, or choose a division that suits you. Or, piss off and don’t become a fighter. What a slacker Jason is.

  • Bruce Lee's Ghost says:

haha – I’ve got tickets to the UWC event. I guess Antwain didn’t last that long.

  • Cole Miller says:

Kinda disrepectful to clay on jasons part…he should of been in shape b4 he went on the show…how could you not be…

  • Justin says:

I suspect that the UFC will do something about these guys showing up on fight cards before episodes air for the next season.

  • Mikew says:

The way Jason Guida handled the refusal was immature and unproffesional, he says he’s been doing this for 20 years but he’s only 30?
Where was he fighting at age 10, without Mir warning him i think he would have really flipped badly.

  • Greg says:

what Guida meant is he has been fighting (cutting weight for nearly 20 yrs) we grew up together in pistakee highlands (johnsburg, il) we all fought in the neighborhood growing up, wrestling in school was huge at an early age.

  • DolfanG says:

Rick Roufus is still fighting? How old is that guy?

MikewI didn’t take Jason Guida’s reaction to not being allowed to fight as immature. It was a fairly big deal for him (apparantly not big enough to show up in shape though). I took it that he wanted to make sure everybody knew he wanted to continue. He might be thinking about a future opportunity and didn’t want to woose out like Gabe did. I think not showing up IN SHAPE and ON WEIGHT was immature however.

  • Dr Doom says:

J guida is an idiot ……the whole thing looked bad

  • KOuch says:

When I first read the TUF fighter roster for this season I was hoping for a Guida/Evans finale…..that “hope” was quickly destroyed! It would have been great for the UFC to have to current fighters brother’s fighting for the contract. In any case…..making weight is just like a dress code. It’s a rule. Do it right or go home. All of these guys who show up over weight are idiots. Why not show up prepared so you feel good and can F someone up. Even if Guida made weight he would have got manhandeled by any opponent. He was in pain, suffering and could not have provided anyone a challenge.

  • windmiller says:

it sucks i missed it what was he saying?

  • Surfingk5 says:

Guida and Evens…guys that had a good idea to fight like their brothers…usually in a family one brother got his ass kicked and the other kicked the ass. I’m just guessing here but I’m thinkin Rashad (who I’ll couldn’t care less for) and Clay may have been the ass kickers and their brothers went and told mama…I know…I’m steppin out on a limb.

  • timcat says:

guess Guida should of showed up in shape. Now he is in MMA purgutory
