    Johnboy,

If I remember I’ll hide my video camera somewhere before I show her. My brother in law(wife’s brother) said I should buy a whole mess of the issue and put one in every room for my wife. He’s on my side this time.

  • JOHNBOY says:

  • KOuch says:

    Rhymes,

At what age does a MAN stop purchasing Playboy or playing viedogames? NEVER! You have officially given up your man card and will not be getting it back until the year 2025. You remark disgusts me.

  • KOuch says:

    JohnBoy,

My wife’s frequent attempts to beat me down is probably 25% of the reason I want this issue. She tried convincing me, a MAN, that Miss Leah was just, “OK.” NONSENSE! I canot allow my wife to be a mechanical reproduction. She will see the light that is the beautiful Rachelle Leah.

  • JOHNBOY says:

DAMN SEE HOW HOT THIS GIRL IS…
SHE HAS US MEN TURNING ON ONE ANOTHER..
    IT’S A DAMN SHAME! =/

  • KOuch says:

    Rhymes,

Out of respect for myslef, Kris, mmafrenzy and everyone here I will no longer continue this. You are insulting nd sound very immature. There is no reason to talk about my marriage and wife the way you did. I’ve had my differences with Dolfan and Gunslinger in the past and they are two of my favorite people to talk MMA with. You have gone beyond acceptable. I cannot engage in a keyboard war. Enjoy your life. You are not fooling me.

  • KOuch says:

    Dietrich,

    UFN in your hometown?

  • Dietrich says:

1hr away! on my Anniv. and the wife is down for seeing some beatdowns!!!!:)

  • KOuch says:

LUCKY F-ING BASTARD! I might get something like that for a birthday or religious holiday but anniversary?!? Highly unlikely. I am going to have to ask you to wear all PINK and NEON GREEN so I can easily spot you on TV.

  • Tmoney says:

    Dietrich,
Do it man, wear all neon green and wave your arms constantly.

  • DolfanG says:

It seems that it’s all calmed down again… whew… I don’t really see the need to call names and stuff like that and I’m glad that’s over with. A difference of opinion is totally cool, but… in my most humble opinion, talking about a person’s wife, kids or marriage is way — way over the line.

This issue of Playboy will be interesting. I wonder how they posed her. Did they use the usual poses or did they incorporate MMA in it? Any Rear Naked Chokes?… I bet at least there’ll be a naked rear… sorry guys… I just could resist the opportunity. I mean how many times could I use a korny joke like that?

  • Gonzo says:

Rhymeskill15, what the hell is your problem? You are trying to act like your a “pu$$y getting machine” and putting down a married man. You are probably a fat a$$ loser, that’ll never be married. And if one day you find some ugly fat chick to marry you, I’m sure she’ll be too insecure to let you have a Playboy or go out and have a beer with your friends.

When I was 18, I wasn’t wasting my days on the computer or playing video games. I was either in class at college, gym, working, beach or partying.

So don’t talk smack about people that are married and whose wife is confident enough to look at pictures of other women and not be jealous.

You have a lot to learn.

  • DolfanG says:

… or we could call each other names… either way… whatever you guys think…

I had another thought about this “layout”… What did Dana and the UFC have to say about it? Were they in favor of it and offer to let them use their gym with the UFC logos all over the place? That would be some good “exposure” for the UFC. I think the MMA demographic is probably the same demographic for Playboy too.

  • Dietrich says:

    Kouch-Tmoney,
Keep your fingers crossed about tickets. There was the story about the fundraiser and the military so this could very easily end up on base in Bragg if not the Crown Col.(Only 2 places to have it in Fayetteville). And tickets could go soldiers only or something weird. But after getting hosed on Lesnar-Mir,Godz,and the WEC last week it kind of feels like it is past due.I don’t even care that Corey Hill is the only listed fight.
We are still planning 12/27 too as we are still planning the Vegas move in 09. The house rules here are simple… I keep going to cooking classes wife keeps going to MMA.
I felt like we got on the live Faber-Curran(12/10/07) but after the reedit I have only spotted 3/4 of my face(radio quality I assure you)during the intros for the main event.(FYI I am standing against a post near the back but in front of the bar).
I will definitely try to do something to get camera time. Not too worried about being rowdy there as we cursed out “Big Frog’s” camp till they sat down.We missed Marshall Gandulla almost completely….

  • DolfanG says:

Why did you curse out Big Frog’s camp? I like Big Frog. Is there something that I don’t know?

  • Dietrich says:

    DolfanG,
It wasn’t personal I like Big Frog too.He wasn’t even involved. In fact that night I spent half the night trying to explain to my wife that Curran was the one we should pull for in the main event because he was more like us than Faber.
Anyway. In the Joint on ground level there is the bleachers in the back, a small circle of chairs around the cage, and a standing room only area at the front.(This is where the fighters enter). Frog’s people were standing and standing in there chairs during the first title fight.Big NO NO!
It went like this “Sit Down!” Sit Down!” after several attempts went unanswered things went to “Sit the $#&* down!” Expletives were added as time elapsed until they realized that the 20 or so people directly behind them thought that their behavior was really unprofessional.and if they were going to see sensei fight the prudent thing to do was utilize the $100+ chairs they paid for in advance.
    * 2 Notes
1 We do not drink…although others around us took advantage of the bar that was close by…
2 If you are going to the Hard Rock for fight night. The best seats are the bleachers if you want to rest but the Standing tickets are great if you get there early. You can get closer to the ring on the sides then most of the people that pay to be sitting down front.

  • Dietrich says:

    Typo
    their chairs…

  • DolfanG says:

That would piss me off too… I knew you had to have a good reason…

  • DolfanG says:

This is off topic, but interesting:

Sources: UFC 92 Card in Flux
by Michael Rome on Sep 14, 2008 6:45 PM EDT in News

Rashad Evans will definitely fight Forrest Griffin for the light heavyweight title, but it may not be at UFC 92. Sources indicate to Bloody Elbow that the UFC is considering moving that fight to another show. There is some internal concern that with Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture headlining in Vegas in November, and GSP vs. BJ Penn headlining in Vegas in January, Vegas fans may skip the December show if it doesn’t have a huge name on it.

There is still an outside possibility that Chuck Liddell could fight in December. He is an established draw in Vegas, and he does not plan to retire after his last loss. There are numerous potential opponents he could fight in December as well, including the returning Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. He was originally scheduled to fight on that show as well, but it’s unclear whether he would be ready to fight again after such a bad knockout.

As of last night, Rashad Evans vs. Forrest Griffin will most likely headline UFC 92 alongside Frank MIr vs. Antonio Nogueira, but things could change if they are able to set up a big fight for Liddell in December.

Update: To clarify, Mir vs. Nogueira is locked for this show. It is Griffin vs. Evans that could be moved.

  • Dietrich says:

    DolfanG,
I appreciate the post. That news puts a big hit on the 12/27 card. I would go for Nogueira-Mir anyway but I would love to see Gonzaga get pushed back or Nate fight someone either here in NC or on 12/27. Liddell would be cool too but (this will get a response I am sure )I would rather see him against 1 Franklin or 2 Machida. Franklin COULD be an ego boost for him and I think it would do better locally for Vegas and a fight win over Machida would show the ability to fight an unorthodox fighter…

  • Dietrich says:

    FYI
Anybody that wants a good deal on a kettlebell needs to check out the “budo bargain” at budovideos.com
I don’t work for them…I just saw a $70 discount and I thought I would try to help someone out given how cheap gas is this week…

  • DolfanG says:

At this point, for Liddell’s next match I’d like to see him step down a step or two and get his game worked out. I can’t rank Liddell very high right now and I don’t think he deserves to be ranked high. Liddell should fight Reese Andy or Jason Brilz or somebody like that. He needs to work his way back up, but he’s still The Iceman and they’ll put him in against the top guys. I could see a Liddell – Machida fight although I’d rather see a Rua – Machida fight.

  • DolfanG says:

I’m not in the market for a kettlebell, but if you find a great deal on cheap gas… let me know! You guys are lucky up in the Carolinas. In South Florida gas is probably 20¢ more per gallon than up there, but we’re still a far sight chaeper than San Fransisco…

  • del says:

Can’t wait to see that gash

  • Dietrich says:

    DolfanG,
My grammar was bad. I meant the kettlebell info for everyone…
Gas prices here were worse than the media let on. The word about the colonial line shutting down spiked area stores to $5.49(Fayetteville) before the State’s AG threatened to prosecute under price gouging law.

  • DolfanG says:

woe…woe… wait a minute… Are you telling me that gas has gone to $5.49???

  • DolfanG says:

Your grammar was fine. I knew it was meant for everybody, but at the time, I was everybody. We were the only ones talking… no big thing… $5.49??? Really??? I was just in Raleigh a month ago to see my neice get married… I’m in shock if that’s what you’re telling me…

  • FR702 says:

The day of IKE’s landing I was in Texas (leaving) Dallas gas was only $3.69 then in New Mexico it was $3.83 but all not that bad Flagstaff,Arizona $3.49 I would unfortunately pay the $5.60ish for a gallon of gas but that is simply outrageous….

  • Kris Karkoski says:

Thanks guys for settling it. We had some power outages so I couldn’t moderate the comments like I would have preferred and taken care of it all quick but that’s how it goes sometimes.

Another reason we’ll soon be adding user accounts as well as some broad rules to more clearly define what is and isn’t “right”.

Anyways I cleaned up the comments as best I could but its to no ones benefit to fight so its better to just settle it as quick as you can.

    Thanks again everyone!

  • Kris Karkoski says:

@Dietrich – You’re in Fayetteville? Email me your thoughts on whatever areas you’re familiar with in NC as we’re starting to look more seriously now and I’d love some input from someone who’s been there.

Pretty sweet the UFC is coming to NC, just sucks it’s at Bragg and will probably only be for soldiers but still cool. Should be lots of off-base parties and what not to give you a chance to meet fighters. I wanted to come down as I have family like 45 minutes away but it’s on a Wednesday the week before my finals so it’s probably not gonna work out.

  • Rhymeskill15 says:

    YEA MY BAD KOUCH…
I TOOK IT SORT OF OVERBOARD…
I JUST HAVE A HARD TIME DEALING WITH PEOPLE WHO ARGUE WITH ME…
SOME BAD EXPERIENCES GROWING UP BIG DOGG…
    THAT AINT NO EXCUSE THOUGH…
    SORRY TO EVERYONE ELSE AIIIGT!
    WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN!

  • timcat says:

I can’t wait for this issue. Did anyone else read last months with Dana in it? It was a great interview and now I don’t think he’s such a dick.

  • Us and Chuck says:

Great news, but my local newsagent does not stock Playboy any more they stopped a few months back (i live in the middle of nowhereshire) and my only hope is likely to be getting it off the net……

At least i read the articles and my partner accepted that in the past and hopefully still does

Any one know when it will be out in the UK ?

  • KOuch says:

    Kris,

I am not sure how you are going about “user accounts” but I hope that does not invovlve the ability to “post your own thought” on a message board format. If that makes any sense. I think what makes your site unique and better than others is the fact we who post here have to post about about the article, press release, fight, fighter etc. that you originally post. You always post good news. If I may suggest, don’t fix what isn’t broken….. I do not want to bash other sites but the ones where people can create their own post are filled with useless topics and people who do not know much about MMA. Oh yeah- that’s another reason I like it the way you have it Kris. EVERYONE here knows a great amount about MMA. I do not think anyone lacking knowledge in the fine world of MMA stays here longer than 10 posts before they are lost in conversation. Anyways, GREAT JOB KRIS!

  • Kris Karkoski says:

@KOuch – Thanks for the compliments.

We will be adding a message board, videos section, and social network to the site in the next month or two but the blog as it is now will remain front and center and any new features will be on top of this.

Posting relevant MMA news and articles got us where we are now and that isn’t going to change so there’s nothing to worry about. People will be able to post on any topic they choose (within reason and rules of course) but they will be moderated to keep things under control.

The user accounts will simply give us better control over the site and will make the MMAFrenzy.com experience better for all.

Again, nothing to worry about. What’s here is here for good and anything new we add won’t interfere with that.

  • KOuch says:

    Kris,

I hope coming from me this means a lot. I talk/type too much and have been around here for a long while now. I’m telling you: BE A MODERATOR NAZI when it comes to the message board. You have developed a site that is full of hardcore fans who love MMA. Realistically, lets be real…..do you really think I can hold back from posting about midgets? I will try my hardest and accept the fact you will delete my posts. I’m just saying a lot of useless things will probably get posted. I have great faith in what you do with the site though. Good luck and I can’t wait to see the changes. When the time comes you have to send someone a warning about what they ar posting, can I be the official letter writter? I do not want anything in return. I just want to support MMAFrenzy. I swear when your site shirts are available I am getting me a few or more. I’d go out of my way for this site for absolutely nothing…that’s how much I believe in it and enjoy it. I’d like the social network idea. There are so many people here I would love to go to a MMA show with because we could actually have knowledge filled conversations oppose to me explaining everything to my firends. GOOD JOB!

  • Justin says:

    Kris,

I am in North Carolina as well, the Raleigh area.

It is exciting that the UFC is coming to Bragg, it will be interesting to see if it is military only or what. Even if they have it at Crown though, that is not a lot of people, less than 10,000 people. I would like for them to come the RBC Center. It holds 22,000 for conventions, I’m sure they could get at least 25,000 for a UFC. They will likely watch how well the October 11 event does in terms of draw before they bring a UFC however.

  • Jazzkok says:

    She’s a Knockout!

  • Kris Karkoski says:

@KOuch – It will be a pretty strict mod process. We will have an off topic forum so things that aren’t up to par can remain up on the site but will be shifted to a different area away from legit MMA conversations. I won’t be the only mod and others will be invited to help out and keep the site clean.

Shirts are towards the top of my to do list. The more I think about it I think I’ll probably have a basic shirt with the site name on them sooner rather than later and may do more styles down the line.

  • Kris Karkoski says:

@Justin – Very cool, sounds like we’ll have solid MMAFrenzy.com community in the triangle-area by the time I get down there.

UFN 16 will likely be in a smaller venue as it won’t be a PPV quality card and won’t have the drawing power. Since it’s not announced the details aren’t too clear about if it’ll be public w/ a military preference, military only, or what. It’s exciting that the UFC is coming to the area. I’m holding out hope they do a show at RBC as it seemed like a perfect sized venue for a PPV when I went to a Canes game.

  • Dietrich says:

    On UFN 16,
The RBC would work 10x better no doubt about it.I just sold back my WEC tickets this morning(It still hurts) and I asked the agent if they had anything listed in the internal computer(ticketmaster) for 12/10…No was the reponse. I can’t go to the one on 10/11 it just looks too cheesy…I would rather drive to the deal in Concord on 9/26(7)…At least its Monson and Wolfgang Puck’s Chocolate brownies are pharmaceutical(sp?) grade!
    Yes DolfanG,
It hit $5.49(an independent station in Fayetteville was filmed but others tried) on Friday till the A.G. hit the mic. Now everyone seems happier at $3.99. I am still waiting for our Smart to come in…6′6″ 320 fits way better there than in a Honda Fit let me tell you…:)
I am insecure about my grammar and spelling because it is poor. I got through HS and College on memory alone.

  • Dietrich says:

Plus I think the kid that was just featured on Tapout out of Jackson’s camp(Dodson? the acrobat) is fighting in DC that weekend.

  • Dietrich says:

People were assaulted in the area while trying to buy cheap gas…

  • Justin says:

    Dietrich,

I wasn’t aware of the event in Concord. Looks like a better event. There are also tickets available at lower prices, but the it appears the better seats are going at a lot higher prices as well.

    Others,

In regards to the gas prices, NC is notorious for the people going into panic mode for everything. If there’s a chance we might a flurry of snow, people flock to the store and buy all the bread and milk. They did the same thing with the gas thing Friday.

  • Kris Karkoski says:

I’m amazed gas went up that much in NC. Prices didn’t change at all here, still at $3.59 a gallon.

  • Kris Karkoski says:

I just confirmed UFN 16 will be at Fort Bragg on December 10th. No other details are available yet but it appears it will be on base which likely means military only.

  • Dietrich says:

    Justin,
About our neighborhood Panic(s) It would be funny if it wasn’t sooo true.
About the card in Concord…From the seating chart….it looked like the ringside seats were paying for the whole thing. Go for the General admission and get there early as there may not be Video playing and at least you would get some height off the floor over the High price tickets. When the Pro Ams were held in Raleigh 12/00 at Dorton Arena it was a similar situation and there was no real distance difference.(Guys FYI the same situation happens at the Coll at Caesars Palace. No seat is more than 120 ft from the stage or something. So take your woman but get the cheap seats and the great room you will be much happier). Anyway Justin save the dough…unless you want to shake a hand or something.

  • Dietrich says:

    Kris,
Thanks for the update…Now I have to tell my wife. After the IKE/WEC I think she would have whipped Dana…Now I am about to be Tim Sylvia to her Fedor….May God have mercy on my soul…:)

  • Kris Karkoski says:

@Dietrich – No problem. Hopefully she takes the news better than you expect for your sake haha.

  • Justin says:

    Dietrich,
I’m not even sure I could go to either. I’ve got something scheduled already the 26th(fights the 27th), and I’m going up to Boone the 4th, and Richmond this weekend….that’s a lot of travel. The thing with the 11th, is I don’t have anything scheduled, its less travel and I’m more likely to get someone else to go. My wife’s not really into the fighting, but she doesn’t complain about me watching it at least.

  • Dietrich says:

    @Justin,
I understand the whole wife thing. Prior to Vegas last year it was “that Wrestling thing”. (I hate that @#$%). Two clues to maybe turning her around…
1 Remember Bonnar and his girlfriend she hated it until it was a reality show(of course he was on it so there may be a flaw there)
2 Do what I did. I gave up my birthday evening for Celine’s last night in Vegas with the stipulation of her going to WEC. I haven’t heard that song from Titanic since…:)

  • gav d glasgow says:

dietrich count yourself lucky in the uk its about £5 a gallon(roundabout $9)!we get taxed to f### on everything,am movin to the states ha

  • Dietrich says:

    gav d glasgow,
You guys really do get nailed on the petrol and the taxes. And the adjustment was over due here. Its just like everything else… the hard heads make it difficult on everybody. My wife and I made the change to smaller cars but we still have to wait in the lines.I just wish we had some of the diesel options or some of the actual cool small cars Ford and GM refused to sell here.

  • gav d glasgow says:

its murder here dietrich, thay take %24 of your wages before thay rob you for petrol!least ave got money for ma playboy

  • DolfanG says:

    Rhymeskill15,

I, for one, accept your apology. I’m sure it won’t ever go that far again. It’s too easy to move to a different topic than start name calling and insults about family and all the other stuff. I respect you for apology. Thanks

  • Justin says:

Don’t worry, the feds get our wages too. I’ve heard that you basically work till may to pay taxes(all taxes, income, FICA and taxes built into price of goods), then the rest of the year you get to keep.

  • gav d glasgow says:

no its all year round justin, thay take 1/4 of your wages each week!can handle that but its a f*****g fortune for everything else.

  • Justin says:

Maybe I didn’t word that correctly. We get wages taken each week, it just works out that if you take all your taxes for the year, it equals what you made from January through May.

  • JOHNBOY says:

yeah i wish it was just until may haha we get f*cking robed over here dont no what there playing at, the beer is the worse in clubs £3.90 i was paying on saturday thats like 7 dollers i think how much is it for a beer over in the states?

  • ALL_VICTIM says:

    WOW
    A beer in Australia,
in a club is like $2 to $3.50

  • Justin says:

Some places do drink specials where they are $2 a pint…not a bar person much though.

  • The Gunslinger says:

ya im back online baby…..dang ike is a relentless piece of jamenson

  • DolfanG says:

Ike was originally forecast to hit us right in the mouth as a cat 4. I’m sorry it hit anybody. I feel for the people in Haiti. They had nothing to start with and then Ike took away their hope too.

  • Dietrich says:

    gav d glasgow,
As a trained Economist, with some of my humanity left intact, all I can say about it is I really don’t know what is worse the taxes that you see or the ones that you never see coming. You and everyone else out their suffering from govt macro mismanagment(myself included) have more of my empathy and thought than you will ever realize.I recommend the book “Cashing in on the American Dream” by Paul Terhorist(sp?) to you. Its about American who became an Expatriot inorder to live cheaply. Maybe you can make some of his plan work for you too.The Lehman-AIG and Merril Lynch stuff that happened today reminds me of my Latin American history class. America is the “new” Mexico and all that is happening is someone new is robbing the register. The comment Justin was making refers to a tax advocate group that tries to determine when you stop working for the government and start working for yourself. The last modified number I saw put it in July. That figure of course doesn’t include the roughly $186k every American needs to cough up to get the country out of red ink. Between helping everyone family wise and trying to sell this townhouse I have been struggling with trying to put out a small book to provide honest people with at least one formula /plan for spending that might actually help turn the tide alittle. My theory America would be better if I could change the savings rate and get everyone to buy Govt paper(notes) as an investment. Raised as a member of the counter culture and educated to be a capitalist the only thing that really made sense to me was to try and help others. Thats just my cross to bare.
On a much lighter note(Economics is the dismal science after all) Buy a few copies of the magazine.Playboy really hasn’t had a super feature/pop culture impact since Pamela Anderson. Maybe this is the one…

  • Dietrich says:

    Gunslinger,
    Welcome back to the fold!!!!!!

  • gav d glasgow says:

cheers for that dietrich, interestin stuff.n its the taxes you dont see comin thats the ball buster, like the hike in road tax we just got!!

  • Us and Chuck says:

Why are you complaing at $4 to 6 a gallon ?
In the UK we pay near double that !

  • Dietrich says:

I don’t think I was complaining about the price. Friday caused a market shock here in NC an area where the least little thing sends the local economy into a panic mode. This is an area where 1/2 inch of snow can do what 30″ does in New York State. There was a story where the pipeline was shut down and a story where a local chain limited gas to 10 gallons a person. This area is the birthplace of stock car racing. You restrict their access to the hammer(gas pedal) and its almost like cutting off their manhood.
Everything evens out… you get nailed on price no doubt…some of your taxes their probably go offset something we pay market price for… You Guys in the UK still have access to the good diesels. At least your country isn’t pinnning all its hopes on the standard Toyota Prius like we are here.(I read a good article in Nuts and Volts where a Brit got 100 mpg with minimal modifications…God bless him most of the NPR (national public radio) crowd wouldn’t touch the motor of their Toyota as they wouldn’t know what to do.

    Dietrich,
Top Gear did a piece where they had one driver in a Prius and another in the new 400hp M3 doing an mpg comparison. The Prius driver had to drive as fast as they could around the track, the M3 driver had to follow, and keep up. The M3 got over 20 mpg while the Prius was under…interesting stuff, obviously the main variable was how hard they had to drive one car vs the other, but still.

    @Justin,
Thanks for the tip. I will try and look for it. Its funny everyone here is supposed to love that car and in Europe supposedly they can’t give it away.

Here’s the bit on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8XDscWleKw I’m not a fan of the Prius, but then I’m still looking to buy an fx35 sometime soon, so I’m not really concerned about fuel economy.

Just realized I misrepresented the facts a bit… my apologies, just watch the video.
