This is a little behind the times to post, but who cares?…

UFC 1 thru 3 had a lot more than Gracie and Shamrock, it had a totally new concept in fighting. It was as close to anything goes as you could have without being completely illegal. The fighters were all excellant fighters in their discipline. They had to figure out what it would take to become an Ultimate Fighting Champion. There were no “big names” as we know them today before those fights. Shamrock, Gracie and Limo were the ones that hung around. You can’t really compare those fights to anything since they were the first of their kind in the USA and since then MMA has been changed radically.

zac, i’m not sure what you mean with this. #1 was an 8 man tourney, #2 was a 16 man tourney and #3 was 8 again. there were some good fighters fot the times too (remco pardoel, hackney, kimo, harold howard, roland payne) etc…

I can’t bring myself to care about Affliction’s PPVs. When getting raped by a cable company for the price of the PPV is still less than the same company’s t-shirts….

I got it wrong according to Yahoo they had only sold 700 tickets double what i estimated !

This goes on to prove that Fedor = Affliction.

Does any one think that the announcement might be a mixed card of Boxing & MMA

nick thompson would be a good matchup too . we’d make that the next match …. winner of josh and eddie fights nick thompson in the first defense .then the winner of the melendez -noons fight is pitted against the winner of the ishida -diaz matchup . melendez vs diaz would also be a good fight
