UFC 75 To Be Headlined by “Rampage” vs. Henderson
In a recent interview Quinton “Rampage” Jackson confirmed he will be defending his light heavyweight title this September in London at UFC 75 against Dan Henderson. Here is what Rampage said regarding his upcoming fight while on CBS 2 in LA yesterday:
“I have to fight September 8th in London with the champion of Japan [Dan Henderson]. He has the belt that I was trying to go for that I never got.”
The fight was announced at UFC 71 after Jackson knocked out longtime UFC champion Chuck Liddellt to claim the title. Henderson, a dual title holder, will put his title on the line with the winner of this fight becoming a dual or perhaps a triple champion.
Other fighters on the rumored card for the event include Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Michael Bisping, and Evan Tanner.
The biggest question mark for the event is how it will be broadcast due to the time differences between the US and England. UFC 70, which was also from England, was shown for free on Spike TV on a tape delay while next weekends UFC 72 event from Ireland will be shown live on PPV. This event could be broadcast in either method (or the darkhorse HBO option) although with the strength of the card don’t be shocked if this is a PPV event.
