franklin movin to get away from Silva
That was a good show. I don’t agree with Franklin being upset by Hamill or Henderson being upset by… the other guy. Both Franklin and Henderson will win their fights. hamill didn’t do well with his stand-up vs. Bisping. Franklin has great stand-up. Henderson is a world class Olympic wrestler with a cinder block for a right hand. There is no way he’ll lose this fight.

Why does Brock get a title shot? Mir beat Brock, no title shot? Nogueira is the Interim Champ, no title shot? Brock VS Randy will be the biggest fight in UFC history, maybe even MMA history. Brock doesn’t deserve a shot at Randy, and this fight is a HUGE slap in the face to true MMA fans, not just the UFC fans. Lesnar may be ready for a title fight, but he hasn’t earned it. UFC + Dana White = $$$$$ = bad for the MMA world. Nogueira VS Mir, Lesnar VS Congo, winner VS winner. If that guy is Lesnar, by all means he deserves the fight against Couture. Lesnar loses by submission 1:30 in the first round in his first fight with the UFC, and can’t or didn’t finish Herring. 2-1 MMA record getting a title shot? Come on Dana, give the MMA community a little respect. I am looking forward to this fight, as a fight and to see two great fighters do there thing. I just don’t understand why this fight is taking place at this time.
This fight is taking place because Dana wants to see Randy get his ass kicked. Can Brock do it? Maybe, maybe not, but he will probably put Randy through a lot of PAIN either way.
i agree with bob unless randy catch’s brock on the button and knocks him out(as brocks chin hasn’t been tested yet) i can’t see randy with over a year of octagon rust keeping brock dominated with ground and pound and he can’t dirty box him against the cage cos he’s so damn big!!!(unless brock gasses) this is gonna be the hardest fight of randys career since liddel.
All said and done i still wanna see randy smash brock up for 5 rounds and lift the title high to say the zuffa’s **** YOU I’M RANDY COUTURE BRING ON FEDOR!!!!!
Couture is going to beat Brock Lesnars ass. Too bad I wont be ordering this fight to see it, and I’ve ordered every single Pay-Per-View event this year. It’s ****ing awful that he gets a title shot at 1-1. ****, if that’s all you gotta do to get a title shot, let Eddie ****ing Sanchez fight Randy Couture. Straight ridiculous. Brock Lesnar should be fighting a guy like Gabriel Gonzaga right now. Not the ****ing hall of fame heavyweight champion.
Well, I WILL be ordering it. They want Randy to fight BEFORE the end of the year. Nog and Mir are already out of the equation (for obvious reasons). We can’t wait around for a the winner of this guy faces the winner of that guy, who faces Randy, because the clock is ticking. That really leaves Werdum. Even though Werdum might be more deserving, he doesn’t have anywhere the amount of hype behind him that Brock currently does. After Lesnar almost demolished Mir, and did demolish Herring, he has a lot of steam behind him and has replaced Mr Slice as the mainstream MMA fan’s watercooler talk.
Like Dana said, he puts on the fights people want to see. I consider myself a hardcore fan, but I’d be lying if I said I’d rather watch Couture fight Werdum over Lesnar. That is an extremely exciting fight, and very intriguing in my opinion. Dana predicts it is going to be the biggest event revenue-wise ever.

Does this mean that the UFC is selling out for a big pay day? Maybe so, but it ALSO means that more people want to see this fight than any other fight in the world. If it gets the biggest amount of views ever, than they successfully put on the show that MOST people want to see. Think about it that way. They might be upsetting some fans, but they are making more fans happier than ever, obviously.
Good business move, and it is great for MMA. More views = more money = more sponsors = shows like “MMA Live” start getting airtime on ESPN. It’s all good.

Seems like it. since it’s not televised in Pittsburgh on ESPN, this is the only place I can watch it.

Pissed MMA fan & Chris, Mikemick is right. lets startr with the fact that the heavy weight divison is weak to begin with. no fighter has a 2 fight win streak right now. PMF said “Mir beat Brock, no title shot?” actually yes he does get a title shot…thats why he facing Nog, no one expected this to happen like it has. They already spent all that time hyping up Mir Nog as TUF coaches you cant just stop cause Randy is back. So what do you do? you bring in the next biggest draw to fight Randy, thats Brock Lesnar. PS Lesnar was scheduled to fight Kongo in November, problem is Cheick had shoulder surgery recently and isnt able to fight. So all you supposed “hardcore fans” stop whining about Brock getting a fight, this is a business and you always do whats best for business. Randy will face the winner of Mir/Nog to unify the belt sometime next year, stop whining and enjoy the fights, it should be a great show.

You’re absolutely correct! Fans too often go off of emotion and forget MMA is still a business. A successful business cannot be run off of emotion. The sooner people understand that, the more fun and joy they will get watching events.
Lesner sucks, plus Randy joined UFC because he is afraid of Fedor. Fedor doest need to cement his legacy, because he has proven it time and time again. Dana is desperate to have Fedor and if he did he would not shut up about how good he is. Lesner needs to shut up because he lost by ankle lock, only an idiot losses by ankle lock. Lesner is a boring fighter and look for this to be the most boring fight of the year. Mir is the true champ in Ufc heavyweight, Fedor for the world. aznstar_inc stop complaining about anyone whining because you were crying like a **** when Slick was here, and you told on him, dude your a grown man, don’t you have any dignity, please shut up you have no right to start trash talking on this site as Slick proved you obviously cant defend yourself.

I explained that Mir got his title fight after beating Brock. And Brock is fighting cause its gonna be a huge ppv (possibly the most buys in history) and in the end its all about business.
All about business!!!! Not about the fighters that deserve a title shot. I cant wait to see the Lesnar Couture fight. It’s going to be a great fight. But Lesnar hasn’t earned this shot at all. If this is all that the UFC has to offer for the heavyweight division, a 2-1 ex-WWE star VS a UFC Legend. Dana should be working on the division, not taking over the world. Dana, UFC will be bigger than the NFL? UFC can’t fight everywhere in the US. MMA is banned in 7 states, not regulated in, I think, 13 states. People talk about good for the sport and great for MMA. B-LL SH-T, yes its going to be a great fight, yes it’s going to draw an -ss load of viewers. But no one and I mean no one has the right to say Lesnar deserves this fight. Remember, Couture left the UFC for a reason. I gotta belive that this kind of fight and this kind of B-LL SH-T by the UFC is why he left. Hey Dana, UFC and Zuffa lets start showing the fighters and fans a little respect.
1st the easy stuff. MMA is banned in NY and Mass, that’s it. And Dana White said in the WORLD the UFC will be bigger than the NFL in 8 years. And thar does make sense, no one in the UK really cares about the NFL. However they already have a very strong following in the UK and after TUF UK it will only grow stronger. No one in Canada cares about the NFL, but they will pack an arena to watch GSP fight. So yes Dana does make sense.
But PMMMAF who deserves a shot? Gabe who already lost to Randy. Cheick is Injured. Herring just lost. Werdum is possibly the only guy that might have a claim, but how long is his winning streak? Oh yea that right he isn’t on one. So with no real challengers who can legitly say “I am #1″ you go witht he biggest draw.

NY, RI, SC, ME, CT, VT and WV ban MMA. Mass doesn’t regulate MMA!!! To fight in a unregulated state is senseless because unregulated(sanctioned) wins or loses won’t count on your record. Thats why you don’t see the UFC in Mass. Get the facts straight before you speak, thank you. I can’t argue with a UFC fan, I can only argue an MMA fact. You people and the UFC are funny. Yes, the UFC is the biggest and best out there. But they are not “MMA”. The world of MMA is bigger that the UFC, ask the fighters from the banned states about having the drive 3 states away to fight!!! Guys that drive from CT to NH to fight and only see a fraction of their payday because of fuel prices, tolls and lodging. All because its OK to train but not fight in your home state.

What part of Lesnar doesn’t deserve this fight don’t people understand? He proved himself as an entertainer and athlete in the WWE and collage. What has he done in the UFC the deserve a title shot, besides having a money making name?

the ufc has gone mainstream…dana at this point can careless about putting together a match that looks great on paper…and will display true mma talent…he wants to be able to put fights together that draw in more fans…and rakes in more money! dana is A business man…thats why i can not get angry at him…he bought the ufc in effort to turn it into a money making machine and he has done just that..i will go back to a point i made earlier…the ufc has turned into something like the hip hop industry…the artist who actually have talent and speak relevant information are the ones on the backburner…while the artist who can make someone dance to his song is the one making the feria! its sad, but that is what the world has come to…it is all about money!!
1st Napao didn’t even make it to a decision with Randy, so why would you get a rematch? Cause he beat a nobody in Justin McCully? and like I said in a spot where NO ONE has a overwhelming case to be a #1 contender you go with the biggest draw. What part of that don’t you get? The Divison is weak and Napao isn’t overwhelming anyone in it.
As for the states that don’t sanction MMA guess who is there trying to get fights sanctioned? It aint elite XC or Affliction. The UFC is the only ones with lawyers working on openning these states up.
But here’s why its good for the sport, Brock draws casual fans in. And if someone buys that card for Brock Randy (which is getting air time all over ESPN and other outlets) and watch the Florian Stevenson fight or the Wandi Rampage fight (a fight speculated to be on the card)
then maybe they get hooked on the action. You guys whining need to look at the bigger picture. All of you are so myopic.
PS if it wasn’t for Dana and Zuffa looking at this as a business, we wouldn’t even be talking about MMA. This would be boxingfrenzy.com and we would be arguing about Manny Vs. Oscar.
