WVR Finalizes Sengoku 5 Middleweight GP First Round, Announces Ribeiro vs. Sugiura
World Victory Road today announced additional matchups for Sengoku 5, which takes place on September 28th at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
The opening round of the promotion’s middleweight grand prix is now set as UFC and PRIDE veteran Kazuhiro Nakamura will meet Paul Cahoon in the first round and Jorge Santiago will take on Logan Clark. Previously announced for the tournament were Yuki Kondo vs. Yuki Sasaki and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos vs. Siyar Bahadurzada.
World Victory Road also announced that Jiu-Jitsu world champion Xande Ribeiro will make his mixed martial arts debut against professional wrestler Takashi Sugiura at Sengoku 5.
IFL lightweight champion Ryan Schultz faces Jorge Masvidal at the September 28th event and Roger Gracie will also be in action against an opponent to-be-determined.

im surprized that the UFC hasnt taken women into the sport yet like some of the other promo’s
maybe they veiw it like the UFC was veiwed many years ago, as a side show freak show… that not many people want to see
i know most female sports arent as good to watch, due to the lack of corp support, and i can see how the world at large is quite ready to see women beat the hair spray off one another, but come on already Dana, i wanna see some women beating each other up…
and if the UFC did take on women fighting, then they would have a place for all those whining snivling fighters like heurta and tito, they can go be biatches and fight where they belong
