UFC Could Hold December Event At US Military Base
The UFC is believed to be in the planning stages for a December event which would take place on a US military base in front of US troops.
Rumors of the event first emerged over the weekend and MMA Junkie has now confirmed additional details on the potential event.
According to the report the event will likely take place on December 10th at a venue to-be-determined and would serve as a fundraiser for the Fisher House Foundation, which provides temporary lodging for families of US military requiring long-term medical care.
No additional details are currently available.
The event would take place just three days before the December 13th finale of The Ultimate Fighter 8.
In December 2006 the UFC hosted UFC Fight NIght 7 at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California before a crowd of 3,000 marines.

For those that talk smack about Dana, no one puts on FREE fights for their fans and fellow military personel like he does.
I am all in favor of having a bunch of promotions in competition with each other. If it ever got down to only one promotion, then we will get what they want to give us and that’s it. Right now they have to compete. More promotions also means more fighters and more fights. I’m all in favor of Affliction and the rest surviving. They probably won’t but I hope somebody else takes their place when they fold up their tents.

I hope that they pick Fort Campbell. Most of our division will be home by then. I will be getting home just prior returning from a 15 month tour. The UFC comming to town would be the best welcome home present for our division.
