Murilo Rua vs. Benji Radach Added To October 4th EliteXC on CBS
Former EliteXC middleweight champion Murilo “Ninja” Rua (16-8-1) will fight UFC and IFL veteran Benji Radach (18-4) at EliteXC’s October 4th event on CBS.
Radach informed Sherdog of the matchup earlier today.
Radach compiled a five-fight win streak in the IFL with wins over Ryan McGivern, Brian Foster, Bristol Marunde, Gerald Harris, and Brent Beauparlant. In his most-recent bout he suffered his first IFL loss, losing to Matt Horwich via second-round knockout in December.
Rua bacame the first-ever EliteXC middleweight champion with a second-round TKO of Joey Villasenor in Jule 2007. He would drop the title in his next bout, losing to Robbie lawler via second-round TKO at EliteXC “Uprising” in September 2007, but rebounded with back-to-back wins over Xavier Foupa-Pokam and Tony Bonello that have returned his to title contention.
EliteXC’s October 4th event, its third CBS-broadcast event, features the promotion’s top draws in Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano.

I give EliteXC another 6 months tops.
Why? Because they are idiots when it comes to finding opponents for their big named fighters.
1. Noonz and Diaz should have been scheduled and done with already, but no, they had to throw a nobody at Nick to drag this fight out even longer. And now Noonz camp won’t even return their calls about a title defense. So the one fight they been building up likely won’t even happen and they may be forced to strip their champion of his belt.
2. Gina is not the top woman fighter in the world. Put her in their against Cyborg (the #1 womans contender) and Cyborg destroys Gina. But will this happen? Probably not anytime soon, as we can’t have Gina lose.
3. Same goes for that dooshe bag wannabe MMA fighter Kimbo. Can u believe it’s almost a month away and they haven’t even named an opponent for their headlining fight? Protect your stars at all costs. or maybe they have named an opponent, just nobody has ever heard of him.
God, I can’t wait till this organization goes belly up! It’s a freakin circus joke.

I agree it’s dumb. I’m so glad UFC hasn’t caved with creative control, because this is the type of bs that happens.

Uh I don’t know about you guys but this is a great matchup here. There is no reason this couldn’t be fight of the night if Radach shows up ready to bang.
