IFL Featherweight Champion Wagnney Fabiano Signs With WEC
International Fight League featherweight champion Wagney Fabiano has signed with World Extreme Cagefighting, according to Tatame.
“My objective is to grown in the event [and] get the title. Let’s start with a tough and focused work. It won’t chance anything in my life, I’m always serious and go to any event to win,” said Fabiano to Tatame. “My goal is to fight for the belt and do my best. [WEC featherweight champion Urijah] Faber is the best of the world now. To beat him, I think you have to be in a good shape. He’s an expert fighter and he has a good gas, it’s complicated to beat a guy like him. You have to set a good game plan and be calm and watch the elbows, because if you hits you can change a whole fight.”
After four-straight submission victories to start his IFL career Fabiano (10-1) defeated LC Davis via first-round submission to capture the promotion’s featherweight title. In his lone title defense before the collapse of the promotion Fabiano defeated Shad Lierley via 37-second knockout to retain his title. His lone career loss was a unanimous decision defeat to current WEC featherweight Jeff Curran.

This is a great addition to the WEC. I can’t wait to see a re-match with Curran, for the title.
this poor guy can work his way up all he wants but he still has to take on faber and that is very intimidating for any 145 pounder
great signing for the wec.
he will be the one to upset faber if brown doesnt do it
Gunslinger,
You think so? I think Faber is on a whole other level than the division. Seriously…..Faber needs to move up to LW in the UFC. Serious…more so than I ever have been about midgets in MMA.
Think of it BJ Penn v Urijah Faber awwww the ppv buys would be thru the roof, but Urijah has to redeam himself in a rematch v Griffin imo
O and an absolutely great signing by ZUFFA and the WEC
Good addition by WEC. Maybe some fresh meat for Faber.
He’s good and someone will beat Faber…I just figured it would awaken from a deep sleep in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan…
It might take Godzilla to beat him.
i do not really watch the ifl..
is this guy any good!?!?!?!
He’s good but its early in the career…10-1 with most of the wins in IFl versus people like Gunderson and Owings. His biggest test was a three round decision loss to “Big Frog” Jeff Curran. A good test would be Cub Swanson. He’s like Owings only mean.
tHIS WOULD BE COOL AS **** LONG AS FABER BEATS HIS ASS
