Positive Affliction, EliteXC Drug Tests To Be Released Today
The California State Athletic Commission on Thursday will announce two positive drug tests from recent MMA events held in the state.
F4WOnline.com reported the development late-Wednesday.
One fighter from Affliction “Banned” and one fighter from EliteXC “Unfinished Business” have tested positive for a banned substance.
Affliction “Banned” took place on July 19th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California while EliteXC “Unfinished Business” took place on July 26th at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California.
According to Bloody Elbow Fedor Emelianenko, Tim Sylvia, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Edwin Dewees have not yet been cleared from Affliction “Banned”, while Jake Shields, Nick Thompson, Antonio Silva, and Justin Eilers haven’t been cleared from EliteXC’s event.
Stay tuned to MMAFrenzy.com for updates on the positive tests when they are announced.

There should be betting odds on this. I’ll take Edwin Dewees and Jake Shields.
ILL TAKE SYLVIA AND JAKE SHIELDS!
KRIS,
i just saw on mmajunkie some gray maynard and rich clementi action could happen could you possibly post that info
@The Gunslinger - It’ll be posted here mid-morning ET.
i’ll take shields and barnett
I say Sylvia (boohoo I don’t have abs like the other guys) and Eilers
I will take Sheilds (popular choice) and Timmeeehhhh just because
No way shields failed. After talking about fighting GSP. Timmy or Barnett, yeah possibly and some no-name from Elite XC.
Eilers and Deweese. Has to be.
When I first read the head line I immediatly thought of Jash Barnett. Few of the names surprised me, but I will take Jake Sheilds and Tim “The Retard” Sylvia!!! I mean he has already been busted once right?
It is Antonio Silva…guaranteed.
No nobody thinks it’s possible that Fedor failed, especially since he’s not taking the october fight because of an injury to his hand?
I say Fedor and Barnett.
Cristiane Cyborg and Tim
Edwin Dewees and Antonio Silva FO SHO !!!!
IT HAS TO BE CYBORG… SHES A GUY…
Ok…EliteXC is hanging by a thread. There needs to be absolutely ZERO roadblocks for it succeed. Their heavyweight Champion Antonio Silva banned for a year, that might be that major roadblock.
i will LAUGH if it’s fedor…what will that do to his rep? it would be too funny, sorry fedor fans!
Antonio “Big Fix” Silva. Probably was jacked in his fight with Ricco too.
i would laugh if it was fedor…that would kill wamma and timmy would be the belt holder
i know who it is i just saw it on another site i wont say though since kris is gonna post it here ..man that really sucks for one organization though really sucks
Silva and Dewees it is.
ya sniper i know thats gonna suck for elite xc now…i bet you that elite xc has kimbo vs rogers for the interum hw belt…like sanders says from kfc i guarenttee it !
The Dewees thing is one of those things were he probably thought he could get it out of his system before the test. He took the fight on like 2 weeks notice. This is one of the reasons I agree with Ken-flo and say that anyone under contract should be available for random drugs screens. That would be a great thing for the UFC to do, but I don’t see it.
Dewees tested positive for Nandrolone “The level of drug in Dewees’ system, 499ng/mL, far outstrips other high profile fighters who have been ensnared by the CSAC since it began drug testing in March of 2006.”
- Silva tested positive for Boldenone, “an anabolic steroid mainly veterinarian in nature” “According to Douglas, the CSAC does not record the level of Boldenone in a fighter’s system, as the drug’s long half-life in the body make false positives extremely unlikely.”
- Both men have been suspended one year from the July 19 bout, and have been fined $2,500
Gunslinger,
Do you think it will be an interim belt or follow the UFC and strip them of it?
Hmm… so Boldenone has a long half life, eh? That could mean he could have taken it a year ago and it’s still in his system. I wonder what the specifics on that are.
