i wonder if were ever guna see faber at 155 in the ufc? i hope so him n rodger would be a fight i wana see
dude faber is hella overrated! I mean he’s proven that he’s good, but i mean this dude has way too much hype on him. He’s only had this streak cuz he hasn’t faced a TRUE challenger. Why doesn’t he move up to 155 in the ufc? pulver has been the only real “name” he’s faced and i mean he couldn’t even finish a washed up pulver.
i haven’t seen that much of him to comment on that but what i have seen of him i think hes an animal, for me BJ PENN is the p4p best fighter on the planet and from what i saw of faber reminded me abit of penn.
Pulver vs Garcia should be a good fight.

Jazzkok,
Are you nuts?! Overated. This kid is awesome. Faber has beaten everyone that they have thrown in front of him except for Tyson Griffin. And Griffin only has one loss! How is that being overrated? Because it wasn’t in the UFC? Zuffa the parent company of the UFC also owns the WEC. I know the talent level at 155-205 isn’t as stacked as the UFC but 145,135,and 125 don’t exist in the UFC so all of Zuffa’s lightweights fight here. Faber has made several of his oppenents look like they never even fought before. I think you need to go back and look at some more footage of him before making such claims.
On another note…I’m looking forward to seeing Jake Rosholt and Johnny Hendricks making their debuts in the cage. Both All American wrestlers! Could be future stars in the making.

The Lord Mark,
I hear what you’re saying, and like i said, he’s proven that he’s good, but dude seriously, he’s not making these guys look like they havent fought before, they just suck a$$. Faber is kool, i’m not against the guy, he’s just not ALL that. And seriously, he aint no bj penn dude. And any ufc fan knows that WEC is under the same comp. as the ufc, i was just saying that he should go to 155 cuz he would find more challenging opponents.
I want to see Rob McCullough kick some a$$

isnt gonna happen mccullough is going to be ALL_VICTIM because mccullough is a GUNSLINGER not a submission fighter and will get submited…all of us UFCfan’s will sit on our KOuch’s and watch cerrone land a choke or armbar
This guy!!!!!!!!
Jazzkok,
I think the problem here is in one of your quotes, “And any ufc fan knows that WEC is under the same comp.” There is a huge definition of your MMAIQ there. There is much, much more in the world of fighting than UFC.
That being said, you are right. “He ain’t no BJ Penn.” Thats true, but he fights at 145. Why do you think Pulver left for the WEC? He is a natural 145 fighter, not 155, and UFC does not have 145. Do I think they should? No, their product is watered down enough already. Let WEC continue with the lighter weight classes. WEC has some of the best fighters in the world in those lighter weight classes. Miguel Torres, Chase Beebe, and of course Urijah Faber.
I bet if you ask Faber if he wants to be the next BJ Penn, he’d tell you he wants to be the first Urijah Faber. Let Penn mess around at 155 and go up to 170 to fight GSP (which I do want to see by the way) but let Faber rule the world at 145. Just because he isn’t in UFC doesn’t make him not qualify as a top p4p fighter in the world (I have him number 1) and he shouldn’t have to go up to a weight at which he is not a natural fighter just to prove his metal as a “UFC” fighter.
Slinger,
How dare you say Faber will lose. He is going to dominate and finally move up the LW division in the UFC.
WEC is great. Every show seems to be a great success. The last show on August 3 may have been the best “televised” MMA event of the year. Definitely one of the top 3. The atmosphere of WEC and the vibe from the fighters really makes WEC a great promotion. The majority of fighters seem very proud to be in the WEC and take their careers extremely serious.
There should be one show a year where the card is made by WEC vs UFC. The WEC would use rising stars to fight UFC gatekeepers. If the WEC fighter wins, he is moved into the UFC and the UFC gatekeeper can be moved to the WEC or stay with the UFC. If the UFC fighter wins, he can just feel proud.
TJ,
Miguel Torres is badass. I cannot wait to see him again. Perhaps one day the WEC will put together a match up between Faber/Torres……cool. It could be the WECs version of GSP/Penn.
TJ
Dude, first of all, i was simply stating that i was completely aware of the wec being under the same comp. as ufc. Second of all, like YOU said, there are many other organizations that have SO many other talented fighers other than just “THE UFC”. Having said that, the topic was not about my “mmaiq”(which by the way is obviously higher then yours), it was about the fact that faber is good, but not all the hype they make him out to be. I suggested he move up to 155 because i was defending my point which is that @ 145 there is NO competition for this guy which is why he looks as good as he does.
Aside from any afront on my MMAIQ, which I never said was higher or lower than anyone else I was just stating that yours is limited due to the fact that you refer to MMA as UFC. UFC is just a part of MMA, it may be the biggest slice of the pie out there but it is certainly not the whole pie.
You can ask KOuch, my MMAIQ isn’t that high because I don’t rank Anderson Silva as #1 p4p, right KOuch?
Its good to be in Florida or in front of the TV on 9/10.
