Roger Huerta has announced, via his website, that he will be fighting on August 25th’s UFC 75 card against a yet-to-be-named opponent. The event is headlined by Randy Couture’s first title defense against Gabriel Gonzaga.

Huerta has posted a spotless 3-0 octagon record since he debuted in the organization at UFC 63. Huerta has defeated Jason Dent, John Halverson, and most recently Leonard Garcia at UFC 69. His unanimous decision win over Garcia was one of the more impressive fights of the night even earning Huerta a cover of Sports Illustrated.

As a result of the media blitz, Huerta has become one of the more well known lightweights in the organization and is considered a major contender to eventually challenge for the lightweight title.
