Aside from the shocking Diego Sanchez news I reported earlier this morning, Dana White also gave us lots of other interesting UFC news to report during the call:
- The UFC is apparently in active negotiations with pro wrestler Kurt Angle and commented that he would love to have Brock Lesnar as well.
- Anticipates the UFC will have a show in Mexico in 2008.
- At UFC 71 there will be an announcement involving the winner of the Chuck Liddell-Quinton Jackson fight being issued a challenge to set up a big matchup. Among the potential opponents for the matchup are Pride veterans “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson.
- Confirmed the reports of Rua’s signing, although he didn’t say when he would fight.
- Did not confirm that the Pride deal had been finalized.
- Stated the UFC will be returning to New Jersey, likely this fall.

What about Wanderlei Silva!?!?!?
Silva is another possibility for the winner of Chuck/Rampage but he had recently stated he will not be fighting until 2008 so if it is Silva it may not be for a while. We’ll find out soon enough.
