EliteXC Cancels September 20th Event
EliteXC has canceled their scheduled September 20th event, according to The Fight Network.
The event was to take place at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico and air live on Showtime.
Bouts slated for the event included Bao Quach vs. Wilson Reis for the EliteXC 140-pound title, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos vs. Yoko Takahashi, and Paul Daley vs. Lyman Good. Joey Villasenor, Dave “Pee Wee” Herman, and Alberto Crane were also to fight at the canceled event.
No reason for the cancellation has yet been announced though low ticket sales is the most likely cause. EliteXC was criticized for it’s decision to hold the event, which featured little, if any, starpower, in an 18,000-plus capacity arena.

Xc dry up and blow away. I would have bought tickets if I was closer and I know alot of fans in that area would have as well.
So it begins…Can’t say i’m to surprised.
This is funny…”OH NO WE SUCK AGAIN”
Best news i’ve heard all week.
It was just a matter of time. Afflicition will soon follow. I guess Affliciton will now go after Kimbo since Fedor won’t fight for a while. What idiots.
hey KOuch,
I THINK I SEE GSP VS SHIELDS IN THE HORIZON!
Poorly run organization, and without the mobster running the show, it will dry up and blow away.
There is no compition for the UFC. It is by far the leader in MMA, but they do have to start payin guys more than just $4,000 a fight. That figure doesn’t even cover gym time.
dana white, wake up and sign gina carano!
Gunslinger,
That would be awesome!
Gunslinger,
Just imagine the future if/when Shields finally does arrive in the UFC….You know I’m going to cram that guy down everyone’s throat.
