UFC 73: Frank Edgar vs. Mark Bocek Added

Posted by Kris Karkoski on May 23, 2007 at 6:00 am ET2 Comments

Two undefeated fighters will meet on the UFC 73 undercard as Frank Edgar (1-0 UFC) will square off with Mark Bocek (0-0 UFC) in a preliminary bout.

Edgar made his octagon debut in early February at UFC 67 with a unanimous decision win over Tyson Griffin. Prior to his UFC win Frank had posted a 5-0 MMA record with the win pushing him to 6-0 overall.

Bocek too is undefeated winning 4 MMA bouts overall. More impressive than his undefeated record is the Bocek ended all of the fights in the first round with 3 submissions and a TKO.

With Edgar forcing half of his wins to decisions and Bocek getting his work done early this fight is sure to be a lightweight showdown of contrasting styles and should give many UFC fans a good bout for the undercard.

I think that Frank Edgar is good but needs to be careful about letting the fight last. Bocek has really good cardio and can finnish fights quickly.

I like Bocek in this one as well. For Edgar to win this he will definately have to come up with a good came plan and make the fight go a while. I doubt Bocek could keep it up for 3, 5 minute rounds. It will be a good contrast of styles for the undercard.
