Randy Couture “Biography” Airs Tonight
If you haven’t got yourself any plans for this evening, The Biography Channel will be airing a one hour piece on “The Natural” Randy Couture tonight at 10pm ET. Here’s a quick slice of what to expect:
“He’s Randy Couture: the Ultimate Fighting Champion. The simple title belies the near inhuman strength it has taken to kick, choke and claw his way to the top of professional fighting. From early days on his high school wrestling team to the Army and Olympics, this Washington native has built a career on years of training–perfecting his signature style referred to as the “ground and pound.” Losses on and off the mat take their toll, but also drive Couture to cement his title as “the best fighter of all time.”
It should also be interesting to see how they put this special together without being able to use any UFC footage, which unfortunately is what happens when the person you choose to spotlight is stuck in a constant legal battle with their employer.

Well Inside MMA uses still images of UFC fights so I’m betting that’s what happens here.
Fight clips could come from previous shows they own(ex “Hazzard Pay” sp?)or stuff Dana Can’t touch like the Japan Open with Enson.

LUCKY….I DON’T HAVE THE DAMN CHANNEL… I MISS SEEING HIM FIGHT. HIM AND CHUCK ARE THE MOST PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDES IN ANY SPORT… THEY DON’T TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED AND YET THEY LOVE THERE FANS. I MET CHUCK AND HE WAS SO COOL… TAKING PICTURES WITH EVERYONE…
I think this is a good thing for the sport to help it grow into the mainstream. CNN also had a hour documentry on the UFC and how quickly its growing. The more n more positive exposure this sport can get is good. And since I’ve moved from Hawaii to Reno I’ve had the oppurtunity to work autograph signings with a few fighters. I must say out of all the pro athletes I’ve met, they are by far the best and most friendly. Everyone is down to earth and always willing to take a pic or sign something. Like YZFOX said Chuck is such a cool guy who stayed past the alotted time to make sure everyone got something signed and a pic. Same goes for BJ, forrest, Clay Guida, Matt Hamill. Its the thing I love most about the sport, every fighter I met hasent had an attitude.

hate to say it but Randy=Favre and the Biography piece is more for his book than the sport. Fedor vs Couture should happen unless Couture wants to challenge Nogueira. Everyone needs to grow a pair and get the thing dealt with today…

As a fighter Randy is interesting but I am not sure a biography can deliver the same excitement. Especially with the UFC footage controversey. Stupid Randy…..this is all his fault. The more time that passes the more he seems like a spoiled brat who didn’t get his way and acted out in a huge act of self destruction. I understand he only wanted to fight Fedor. Being a realist he should have known or tried to understand the situation well enough not to F himself and the FANS who support him.
