I think to say that all fighters know what they are getting into when they sign a contract with Dana is extremely naive.

Hey, there is no way that WEC 35 brought such ridiculously low fighter payments. Uriah Faber makes millions. There is no way in H-E-Double Toothpicks that Carlos “Tha Natural Born Killer” Condit made $44,000 for that fight. If that was the case, all of these guys would be in the UFC, not the WEC. There is a ton of money missing in the WEC’s dislosure. I know that Condit had to make a half-million. He wouldn’t be in the WEC otherwise.

I think what people are forgetting is that when you say I’m going to be a pro fighter, you have to go in knowing that you will most likely struggle and like any pro sport there’s a 90% chance you never become a star. These guys get paid to do something they love, I’m sure most gave up better paying stable jobs to do this. So lets ease up on the moral outrage over how much these fighters get paid, this is the life THEY wanted. And with the few exceptions of the premadonna’s and big headed guys who think they are better than they are, no one complains cause its understood you don’t do this to be a millionare and if that’s the reason you get into fighting you won’t make it.

How in the hell does Brock Larson make more than Bian Stann? The money these guys make is a joke, Zuffa should be embarrassed. The owners make billions while the guys who get their heads pounded can’t even pay for their training. They deserve more than what they are getting!

The industry hasn’t escaped its funding model from the past. Before it was tapes and seminars gave the fighters cash now its t-shirts and after parties…

I’m pretty sure with UFC hitting the $1 billion dollar mark that they COULD pay their fighters more… they just won’t until another ogranization gives them a reason to.

This money is only what they got paid for the fight itself. It does not include what they get from sponsors to live while training. I know one of the fighters personally, and I can assure you, he’s not living with mom and dad. Is he rich? No (most athletes aren’t) but I’m bringing home 60k a year in my job and he’s doing better than me.

All of these guys are getting paid ****!!!!!
As much of their lives are dedicated to this sport there needs to be real compensation. I know they have sponsors and the such, but golfers and tennis players are a bunch of overpaid pussies. Tiger Woods has probably never been punched in the face. Damn shame.

man these guys dont make near the ammount that their big brothers in the ufc. why doesnt these good guys move up ie condit faber i know faber would have to put on like 10 pounds or ufc branch to a new weight class
