Tickets On Sale For EliteXC’s October 4th Event in Fort Lauderdale Featuring Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano
Fans seeking to participate in the highly anticipated South Florida homecoming of incredibly popular and exciting mixed martial arts superstar Kimbo Slice of Perrine, Fla., near Miami, have the opportunity to reserve their seats now.
Tickets for what will be a sensational, memorable event Saturday, Oct. 4, at the BankAtlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., start at $30 and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (954) 523-3309 in Broward County, (305) 358-5885 in Dade County and (561) 966-3309 in Palm Beach County, online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the BankAtlantic Center box offices (954) 835-7825.
The BankAtlantic Center box offices are located on both the North and South sides of the main entrance. Their normal business hours are 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The box office will be open the day of the event beginning at 10 a.m. The first live fight on Oct. 4 begins at 6 p.m. ET.
The fight card, headlined by the unbeaten, exciting Kimbo and talented, undefeated women’s superstar, Gina Carano, is presented by Los Angeles-based ProElite, Inc.’s live fight division, EliteXC.
A major MMA attraction, Kimbo (3-0) possesses ferocious striking skills and is coming off a thrilling third-round TKO over England’s James “Colossus†Thompson on May 31.
“I’ll fight anybody, anywhere, but it’s always nice to fight at home,’’ said Kimbo, who required all of 62 seconds to dispatch of his initial two opponents. Kimbo, aka Kevin Ferguson, made a name for himself on the Internet where videos of the bald, bearded, menacing-looking, former underground bare-knuckle street fighter have been downloaded literally millions of times on YouTube.
Carano, aka “Crush†on American Gladiators, is the most recognizable female MMA fighter in the world. She registered a second-round TKO over Kaitlin Young in her last start on May 31.
It’s apparent the moment you meet Carano that she’s the epitome of strength; a strong woman: mentally, spiritually and physically. Yes, she is more than a pretty face. A Muay Thai specialist, the crowd-pleasing Carano garnered national notoriety for her quote: “We’re not hitting tennis balls. We’re hitting people. Isn’t that more exciting?â€

It’s very obvious this is the press release from Elite XC.
So let me guess this right. They are selling tickets to a fight where we only know 2 of the fighters, but not their opponents. Or any other fighters involved. If they said Ninja Rua would be fighting, and Kimbo’s opponent (Brett Rogers would be awesome), I’d buy tickets today.
Kimbo needs to fight a real MMA fighter, that is either over the hill or not too skilled if they expect him to keep his undefeated streak. I like watching Kimbo, but it will be awhile before he can fight anyone in the UFC.
When does Nick Diaz get his title shot?
Kimbo should fight someone like Eilers. I doubt Eilers will be any part of that event but someone of his caliber who leaves Kimbo “excuse room” should he lose. Isn’t Gina fighting Guyborg?
Womens fighting is boring, but I will watch it if it’s Carano vs Cyborg. The 3 minute rounds are dumb though.

I agree on the 3 minute rounds for girls. Why is there different rules for girls? I use to hate the girls fighting in MMA. But I have come around this year because of Carano. And Cyborg is a beast. I’d like to see her kick some more a**. And when she finally meets Carano, that’ll be exciting.

I believe once Cyborg had the medical procedure (transgender or specifically sex reassignment surgery) she is able to use the ladies room, go to a female prison, and be in female MMA. Olympics may be out of the question though.

You are right on the money. However if this card adds Nick Diaz vs. Noons Title Fight (And have it as the main event, not Kimbo)and add Ninja Rua to the card and maybe a tile defense by Antonio Silvia, it would be Elite XC’s best CBS card to date.
