Matt Lindland and Vitor Belfort To Fight For Middleweight Title At Affliction 2
Matt Lindland and Vitor Belfort will clash for the first-ever Affliciton middleweight championship at Affliction 2 on October 11th in Las Vegas, according to Tatame.com.
“It’ll be a great fight, we’ll see who is the best of the world thereâ€, Belfort told Tatame. “I saw his fight with Negão and he’s a warrior. He comes be over you, but I don’t think he has the strength to stay over me. I’ll go to knock him out. My punches are well-aimed and when it hits he won’t stand.”
Lindland (21-5) defeated Fabio Negao via unanimous decision at Affliction “Banned” on July 19th.
Belfort (17-8) knocked UFC veteran Terry Martin out cold in the second-round of their bout at Affliction’s first-ever event.
Affliction 2 will be headlined by a WAMMA heavyweight championship bout between title-holder Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski.

When is Affliction going to get some talent under the age of 30? I know the UFC has its Senior Circuit, but I cannot think of many fighters with Affliction under the age of 30. Maybe this will be like the Champions Tour on the PGA circuit.

As much as I think both fighters have had a great history the match up is not very appealing to me. For free…..I’ll watch…..This style of match up would be garbage if it did not have two big names…..typical Affliction.
lets see marquart could beat belfort………hendo could beat him…..rich could beat him…..anderson would destroy him…..bisping would tool him……cote would knock him out…..almeida would sub him easily…ya belfort wouldnt last long…talk about you saying hendo is past his prime look at belfort….in my opinion a win against terry martain doesnt even give you a shot at any title…..i mean come on terry is horrible!

Gunslinger you are correct. Wandy would obliterate Belfort if they fought now. However, if Belfort got a few wins under his belt and his full confidence back…that may make things interesting.

So Affliction will have their own belts too? So does Fedor need to fight for the Affliction title? He is the WAMMA heavyweight champion only. Fedor should have fought for the Affliction title and when he fights Randy, then they should have awarded the WAMMA belt. Just a thought.

You f-n hippy! What I am trying to say is Affliction is putting good matches together but the matches would have been better many years ago.
Typical Affliction- Sign big names for drawing power. 98% of Affliction’s roster is past their prime. Putting together match ups that are diluted in the modern day due to fighters no longer being contenders at a higher level of MMA.(UFC)

If you do not understand that the UFC has the majority of talent in MMA you have ZERO business discussing MMA with the people on this site.
