Quote of the Day: Jesse Taylor Feels UFC Release Could Be A “Blessing In Disguise”

Posted by Kris Karkoski on Aug 1, 2008 at 4:30 pm ET22 Comments

Jesse Taylor“It’s definitely frustrating. I was upset, of course. But I’m going to keep on fighting. It could be a blessing in disguise with the other organizations out there. It’s like a three-year deal with the ['The Ultimate Fighter'] and all. I think they can release you whenever they want. So yeah, they kind of let me go.

I thought the whole thing was blown out of proportion. I just said, ‘What goes around comes around,’ kind of meaning about the double standards. Not meaning anything bad. I guess they kind of took it the wrong way, but I didn’t mean anything bad by it. I don’t regret [making the comments] at all. I don’t know if [the UFC is] looking for an excuse to get me out of there or what. The comments were nothing.

Hopefully I didn’t leave on a bad note. I wouldn’t mind fighting for them again. Right now, first things first, is just to find another fight — hopefully in a major organization — and get back out there. Keep on the lookout. There should be something big in the next couple weeks about where I’m going.”

    That is it…that’s nothing of a remark…

  • Patches says:

why is this nobody getting attention on any website? I will be perfectly happy to never see that brainless moron fight in any organization, be it the UFC or jim-bob’s backyard wrestling shin-dig. I don’t care what you think about any fighter, Jesse. Hearing you talk about fighting is like listening to Oprah talk about starving… the two just don’t go together.

  • kelvin says:

    is this guy still talking??

  • Smitty says:

Kris Karkoski this quote of the day **** is getting WACK!!! Honestly come up with something else to say. you put down like 10-15 QUOTE of the DAY. Back to the main story, UFC isnt for everyone. Dana only concern is the growth and expanson of the UFC.

  • Lord Mark says:

Dissapear please! I guarantee he ends up in EliteXCrap.

  • Jagman says:

He gave JT-Money his chance and he got dominated… he was pretty much dead weight to the ufc so they did the right thing. Also, I agree with Smitty about the quote of the day.

  • Curtis says:

What would you guys rather it be? Fast talk, Quick Quote, or how about who cares it is great information?

Taylor needs to float away into the sunset! He is sorry. He sounds like a guy that got fired. “No you can’t fire me cause I quit!”

    DUMB!

  • 2girls2cups says:

it’ll be hilarious when he signs with a different show that gets bought out by ufc in like 2 months so that they can fire him again.

  • Q says:

Just go away already. No one cares!

  • FixXeR says:

Smitty is just being a punk. I like this quote of the day section.

  • 2girls2cups says:

ya, fyi i like the section. there’s not always going to be a newsworthy story so this gives me something to do instead of actually working. anyone who doesn’t like it doesn’t have to read/comment on it.

  • joel b says:

he is more full of it the cote. this guy is a joke he is one of the tuf guys that just squeeked by and shouldnt of ever got to fight again for ufc he is trash and i hope that he is stuck in local shows for the rest of his life.

  • The Gunslinger says:

i hate jesse taylor…i bet affliction picks him up!

  • KOuch says:

    Jesse,

You are a boring wrestler who acts like a moron. Pissing yourself and going on drunken rampages is not cool. It feels good to laugh at idiots like you but there is no form of respect in that. You’re a fool. Being released by the top MMA promotion is not a blessing. It’s a statement that you are not one of the best, a boring fighter, not very liked and a bum. F off.

  • Dietrich says:

I am not a fan of the guy….He did something that was world class stupid. He “unloaded” where he ate. If you have ever been to Vegas or a really good party you know that people get that out of control. He was under lock and key for a while and when he comes out he knows he has a pretty solid chance at more money than most wrestlers ever see in their sport. So he goes out on a bender…You take that and add he catches a knee that was intentional( It wasn’t thrown to hurt him it was thrown to take him out of his game plan. He went back to wrestler mode and was easier to submit.) I am not sure that even he knows it was intentional as I question his mind/sport acumen. Then the guy who puts one of the nails in his coffin gets caught doing something stupid and he isn’t cut and he hits him with a nothing quote like this…I hope he gets better training and has another shot.I mean we have worse guys in the sport.

  • timcat says:

Stop all the hate. Here’s a quote of the day,”this cake is exhuberant.”

  • Gonzo says:

Jesse, if you’re reading this, go sign a two fight deal with Elite XC. You need to stay on free tv. UFC and TUF fans will watch, no matter what they say on the blogs. Even the haters will watch to see you get your a** kicked. Prove yourself with a couple of wins and they’ll turn around. By that time, you can see if Affliction is still growing and try to make the move. If not, then sign a better deal with Elite XC and get a title shot. And keep the partying under control.

  • JOHNBOY says:

    jesse if you’re reading this GO SUCK A C0CK U LITTLE B*TCH

  • Spud says:

They kick this guy out for making a comment about a guy that just ran from the police and almost ran over a few people, one world LAME!

  • PatD says:

Maybe he can get a job playing Big John when they make UFC the movie?
